Hello

after posting my first build and reciving some feedback this is a revised list of components for my first build, it shoud come in at around £1200.

Intel i7 2600k 3.4GHZ SandyBridge

Gigabyte PH67A-UD3 Mobo

8 GB Mushkin Redline RAM

1TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 SATA-II

0CZ 60GB Vertex 2 SSD

Gainward GTX 570 Phantom

ASUS XONAR DG Gaming Sound Card PCI 5.1

NZXT Hale 90 850w (80 PLUS GOLD)

Samsung SH-S223C Optical Drive

Cooler Master 690 II Advanced White

TP-Link TL-WN350G 54 MBPS Wireless Adaptor

2x Phobya Nano-G

Noctua NH-D14 2 Tower Heat Sink

As you can see i am going with a mainly white theme and with bits of red, black and blue thrown in. Feel free to give me any recommendations or advice. With the mobo i might choose to go with the ASUS ROG Z68 boards but it will depend on the price when they are released.

Thanks

looks good tonytbr, I wouldn't see the point of the i7 2600k unless your doing allot of rendering and graphics. for gaming and basic tasks the i5 2500k would be more than needed, the only difference beetween the two is the threads, that's my only gripe everything else looks great cant to see the pictures.

make the most of the sata3 on the mobo and get a 1GB WD sata3 caviar black instead

and

the samsung SH-B083L is the better choice as it has the same specs AND bluray, plus looks better

Thanks for the advice as i was undecided weather to get the Samsung spin point or the WD caviare black so now i think i will go with the WD

Joking aside though I agree with dugdiamond !

I would chose a mobo with p67 or z68 chipset,rather than h67.

Maybe also msi gtx570 with twin frozr II cooler.

And dugdiamond has some good suggestions also.

Don't get the PH67A-UD3. It's a H67 board so you can't overclock a K processor with it. If you get that mobo then you might as well get the 2600 but you'll be stuck with pretty much stock speeds. I'd get a P67 or Z68 mobo because you can then overclock the 2600K.
