I'm using the NH-D14, and RAM is running at 2000mhz (they are load temps)
Maybe the RAM at 2000mhz is making it unstable?
Prime95 has been running for 1 hour now at 1.31vcore and QPI 1.35v
Should I keep lowering the Vcore, or should I up the QPI a bit?
Going to try and take some pictures of the bios![]()
Running the Ram @ 2000Mhz with a Bclk of 200 normally does make the system unstable, I don't think a rampage 3 can run a high baseclock and high divider on the ram without very high Voltage like 1.7V for the memory, I would also make sure you have the QPI set to the lowest possible number in bio's, You can test the Ram stabilty using Intel Burn Test, I prefer this over Prime95 because it allows you to Test a CPU stabilty in 20 mins instead of 20 hours, But i run both anyway.
The other option is to set alot of the settings apart from the CPU volts to Auto, Then go look on CPUz Coretemp etc for the voltages, Then knock them down by 15%, It's a very fast way to find optimal settings for Low heat Overclocks.
I can't even remember what i had my 980X settings at when i had it on a Rampage 3, But it was at 4.5Ghz 24/7 on a H50 with pushpull Vipers, Never saw over 75 on anycore with 48 hours of prime 95, Maybe if you could go into the bio's and just take pictures of the entire screen and upload them we can check every possible setting, I would love yo help you get that chip to atleast 4.3Ghz.
Nat.
If you're going to run the memory at 2005Mhz you should change the timings to 8-8-8-28 It'll help stabilty issues you're having then try prime95, Everything else looks Ok, I Normally i would be going through settings changing all sorts of stuff to manuel,But it's not possible to really do this over the forum, I personelly would run the memory around 1800ish, You won't see any performance difference in games or appz running from 1600 to 2000 anyways, Only at the higher 400-500 FPS, Which in 95% of games you'll never see.Nat.
Yeah seams about rightlets just hope you can run prime for 60 min now then
(maybe a little on the high side but it wont damage your chip none the less, I think you can go lower on Vcore by increasing your QPI to 1.37v If you want to keep messing around with the settings that is?

What sort of vcore volts should they be on advantage?
I even have stuff downloading in background![]()
