The G45 is still a very respectable board. Even with my GD65, I can only get 4.5GHz with a 'D14 24/7.
He's made a good choice.

Good yes, but he gets much more for this small money .. not in mhz for oc, but in features ..

It's an extra £35 for features he's not bothered about, as he's already stated.
£35 isn't what I class to be small money, not for superfluous features that are never used.

i just scored a used MSI Z77-GD65 for some trials...
as said before, depending on options, the GD line-up is a good base for a rig.

i appreciate what your saying but the way i see it is if i wanted a board with loads of features i'de be looking at boards that cost alot more than £80
