So, i'm coming up for the end of my first ever build (yup, it's been tense) and I was trying to set up RAID in the BIOS before I install windows...can't seem to do it for the life of me.

Is it right that I have to install windows first and set up the RAID from within Windows?

I don't think i've stopped tensing since I started this build, you know. So damn intense

You can use some software raid, but I strongly recommend you setting up in the bios, look up in the manual, it is how I managed to install on my asus MB

Yeah, i've worked out how to do it now. I don't think my keyboard is being properly registered, though. I'll deal with it more tomorrow. Thankyou, though

I use the hardware raid for the mobo. you enable raid in bios and then there is another bios during the boot where you setup the drives . Then you install windows.

The software raid within windows is for ant other hdd's you have not to add another to your windows install hdd/sdd. Unless your talking IRST which imho is rubbish.

So it depends on what your wanting to raid windows install or storage.

I now understand how to do it - so it looks like everything i got installed today is getting wiped tomorrow!

It shall be for Windows + Programs + Games. Got a WD Green for storage.

Thankyou, by the way

yeah, i had crazy issues with the non-PS2 keyboard motherboards, just USB and the

torture of sometimes not posting with the keyboard for Bios navigating can be plum

crap. glad you found the answer..a
