Wow! I like it!

Looks damn good and very black. I dont see any brown.
The pic at the very bottom of the site shows some brown :)
It's not as bad as the Z77A-GD65 (Non-Gaming edition) though
Although I really like these, I'd still get the MPower, because you can paint the heatsink plates to make it match any colour-scheme there is without voiding warranty :)

I had to take a really big look at it to spot some brown though, I doubt it'll be seen to the naked eye in person. It's probably the camera's ISO which would be a bit too high there :)

trying to find a price for it they say its out now and theres more than just the gd65 which is the flagship... i wonder if they have the g45 for lower end and gd55 for midlevel?

cant find it anywhere :(

Are you sure it says out now? I can't find it :p

watched the video and read the webpage could swier the guy in the video says "out now" probably is somewhere or out for preorder or somthing..

wonder if tom can get a sample to review?

I'd be interested if they weren't likely to be a stupid premium over an already great board like the MPower. I guess we are yet to see but they will probably charge a fair bit more for very little differentiation.

As for the Brown PCB i too saw a picture where it looked very brown, but in the promo pics it looks black

By the looks of things, it seems like the internal components haven't changed at all. I'm curious why they are releasing it now though, with Haswell boards starting to pop up.

I am always a fan of new things, however I'm not entirely sure about this. As mentioned I have seen at least Asus teasing Z87 stuff which should be coming fairly soon.

I'm also not sure what roles this is meat to play since it does seem similar to the Mpower.

I also hate seeing VGA connectors on the back of high end motherboards. I like the look of the GD65 personally, but I was surprised to see a VGA on the back of that. I am even more surprised to see it again here.

I do like the look of it alright, but I think red is really overdone. I'd love to see some more boards that are completely all black and understated with no guns/ammo/knife/designs on them at all.

As far as PCB's go the Mpower one looks good in darker light, but if you bring it into natural light the actual PCB is very light grey almost and you can see the contrast to the heatsink and other pieces that are painted black. I'd like to see black PCB's that are darker even under bright natural light. I'm not sure if that is a limitation of the manufacturing process, or if it is something that was done intentionally. I like the look of brown PCB's like the ones found on the twin frozr 7950 that I have. I would like to see some motherboards utilize that aesthetic in a motherboard as well.

Personally my favorite broad I've seen out in a long time aside from the Sabertooth is Gigabyte's X79 UP4. It's just a personal preference but I like the look of this better than red. I love the design on the chipset heatsink, I think that looks so good.

Msi showed an all grey/black X79 board in their CES booth, but I think it would be nice to see a grey/black high end Z77 board from then as well.

That board is a GIGABYTE one man :p
I agree on the all black though :)

He just put an extra piece of text between the pic and the bit of text it belonged with :p

Anyway, I fully agree. Getting tired of all the black & red or black & blue boards, everyone makes them. Waiting for more companies to go black&white, black&green, all black or even more crazy colours like.... Orange and purple (lol)

*fixed*

i agree, i like blue/black and i think red is okay but i really like stuff like the sabertooth boards and boards that are mostly all black/gray. i also remember some old boards from gigabyte/biostar that had various colors like orange and yellow etc and i like the look of that too.

if you just google "biostar motherboard" their stuff has some interesting colour schemes that i kind of like.

either way i think more companies should do more all black boards because i dont think you can go wrong with black
