MSI GTX780 Lightning or Gigabyte GV-N780OC-3GD?

Hey man, I typed out this earlier. I used it to clarify which 780 comes out ontop. NB I took this info from guru3d

Awesome man! Thank you! Yes the EVGA Classified seems a bit better though. But when it comes to overclocking the cards, then the MSI Lightning beats it according to some reviews.

I FINALLY RECEIVED MY MSI GTX 780 LIGHTNING 2 DAYS AGO! ^_^.......

I am soooo amazed. The whole structure is of high end parts and you can see MSI has gone and put a lot of effort into the design of this card. I know the middle fan is pointless though. The card is very heavy. It weighs 1.508kg.........lol

I wanted to go for the EVGA Classified but the Classified is not released in our country!

I got my ASUS GTX780 reference card today.

15311 3dmark11 graphics score
3022/72,2 fps unigine valley 1.0 extreme hd 1080preset
11085 3dmark firestrike

Running it at +193/+450 atm and I can probably go a bit further on the memory.

Idling at abouts 30c in a semi-hot room, 40% speed on the fan (pretty much inaudible). Got temp target at 82c but never went above 78 while benching / running crysis 3.

I was not expecting this card to run this good. Shouldve been in bed 2 hours ago but I CANNOT stop benching it, it will not crash from memory overclock. Going to run a 193/500 now.

I think this is my new fav card after my old XFX GTX260.

EDIT:

+525 mem no problem. It just keeps going.

Good luck with the new card.

Will you be getting a waterblock for it, with summer not too far away it could come in useful.

Hey mate some awesome frames you running on your reference card hey. Thank you for your concern and thank you for posting it. Its really appreciated. I am glad that you are happy with your card.

Keep up the good work. I will do some benchmarks with my GTX 780 Lightning in the future and post it. I am just extremely busy this side and I have so little time to spend with my PC. lol......

Good luck with the new card.

Hey Kaapstad

Hope you doing well? Yeah the summer is on its way. I see EK is still busy with the design for the waterblock for the GTX 780 Lightning. I don't think I will ever buy it though as its kinda pointless to me. I did a benchmark or 2 the other day on Unigine. Not sure what settings I used though. But my card did not exceed 65 Degrees Celsius. I must admit that I am running a Thermaltake Level GT10 case with an extra fan at the bottom blowing air to the top on the GPU as well with the BIG 200mm side panel fan which blows direct air on the GPU.

I still need to overclock the GPU but have not had time to do research on how to do it etc. I would probably be able to do it myself after some research though. But as stated previously I have never OC'd a GPU before haha......

Keep well mate
