ha ha apparently there is thermal paste in the CPU socket so my RMA has been rejected????
Must be a microscopic amount, did they use the hubble telescope to spot it? :blink:

yes dude in which one ?? i know that i have eyesight problems but i still can pretty well without glasses but i can't see anything on that pic !!btw i am going to be having news from my rma soon !!

There are loads of pins, you have to be more specific. I still can't see it anywhere.

Good job I told you to take pictures then.
You need to raise this into a bigger issue. Ask them to send you a picture of the thermal paste then. You have a picture of it - if things dont match then you know saomethings wrong

ohh soryy for being inactive for so long ...but i had some health problems....but anyway everything's fine now !!
also my rma didn't go well...but the guys at the shop i bought the board because they were very kind they sent me a gigabyte z77x-ud5h instead !!
now i want to here how demonking's issue is going to evolve !!

i'm now waiting, i have logged my official complaint and have had some legal advice from the citizens advice bureau (these guys are fantastic if you ever need help in the U.K) and got all the legal jargon i need to fight this one. I will keep you all posted, in the mean time i've just had to RMA my GPU but with MSI direct so i've got that to keep me busy. not my year for components

Hey guys, sorry for bringing up this post again.. But I have the Error 55 power on reloop.. I bought this board of a forum member here and it has worked fine. Unless FTR.4500 can pass me on his receipt then I think I am fucked for getting a rma.. Does anybody know how I can get in touch with MSI's Rma department Direct in the netherlands to get this rma processed ??
I am currently using a backup board P8B75-M LX from Asus with the components that I had on my msi board so I know the problem is the z77a-gd65..
Anybody know the reason for this error 55 problem, whats causing it, I see lots of owners of this board online having the same problems after a few months of use?
Oh and on the of chance that TTL reads this, can you ask your UK rep what the problem is with these errors coming out of knowhere after a few months use...

According to the Manual error code 55 is "early memory initialization."
There is no way of fixing it yourself seen as you can't even get into the BIOS, you should be able to RMA it though if you can sort things out with FTR.
It's the same error I get on my Z77 GD65, it booted first time then on reset after the first boot it's been stuck in a boot loop ever since.
MSI motherboards are well know for getting stuck in boot loops. Personally, i'll not be buying one again.

A friend of mine picked the board up by the CPU socket and bent some of the pins so I was unable to RMA it.
They would have just turned round and said it was because f the bent pins, even though I know it's not.
You should be able to RMA it though, as it's a fault with the mobo, so as long as it still has warranty you should be ok.
