Motherboard installation cable conundrum...

Ok I'm a bit struck on how to install all the little front panel audio connectors. You know, the little fiddly ones.

I seem to have a lot more connectors than the instruction manual expects...

Do I really need these?

should only be 1 or 2 audio connectors ac97 and HD (you only need one), then theres your HDD Led ( not necessary imo), Power LED, Power switch and reset. i dont use the reset normally, i dont use the HDD led either but the Power switch is obviously necessary and the Power LED looks good imo

Cheers, I've got the power stuff ok, but I seem to have about 10 audio connectors...

return r, mic in, spkr out l, etc...

poor choice of case i think if they didnt come bundled? £9 casecom one me thinks?

Anyway...check your motherboard manual, tells you in there where you need to place each individual cable if they arent pre-wired

Well it probably isn't what you'd call the Ferrari of cases, but I am where I am.

Thing is the manual doesnt mention the majority of the cables at all. So what happens if I just don't bother with them. I mean if this is to make audio come from the case I don't really care.

Most of the cables you mention will be for things built into the case, But previous posts have identified the important ones ...............so I wouldn't worry too much if I was you.

As far as cases go.............you get what you can afford. If you could only see some of the bl**dy things I have had in the past !!!!

Well, I've plugged in the one that were obvious and/or in the manual and the rest I've just left and it seems (touch wood) fine.
