Motherboard help!

Hey guys,

So I got a new motherboard today as the MSI Z97M-G43 that I got the other week, had some compability problems with my graphics card.

So I'm gonna send it back... altough, one issue.

I have no idea on how to put back the plastic cover on the CPU socket, and it's not as easy as installing an CPU, which is just drop it down carefully and pull the hinge down.
As it's not working for me, I must be doing it wrong...

Any help please?...

Thanks,
Chrazey

afaik you don't need to put that back on. its like putting cable ties back on cables that came with the motherboard.

If you insists to do it, then my z97 plastic bit comes off when clamped so it should come back on from top (close socket) at an angle.

Orient the board right way up facing you place the plastic cpu cover so you can read the writing right side up and it should fit correctly

Thanks guys,

I got sort of an "attached" paper with my motherboard today and it had instructions there regarding the plastic CPU cover, which explained 2 types of them... the one that was installed under the metal bracket and one that was installed on top.

I thought mine was suppose to be under the bracket, but was meant to close the bracket and then put the plastic cover on hehe... my bad, sorry guys for this unnessesary thread! :p

Thanks anyways! :)

Just to clear this up

You always have to put the plastic cover back onto the socket when returning a motherboard. Otherwise the RMA will be rejected and if you RMA'd it for being broken, your warranty is gone.
