Hi all,

I bought a DFI SLI-DR board, but am stuck with the 4 LED bug. I have read all the forums and there seems to be no answer to it.

Even when boards are RMA ed they often get returned back because they work fine when tested.

My board will boot fine, but if I have to do a power off it wont work and i get the 4 leds. If I leave it a couple of hours then it usually works.

Anyway am fed up with it so can anyone recommend a good board?

Am thinking about Asus.

It wont make ya feel any better, but this happened to me as well. Check your PSU for 5V standby rails, as well as the settings on the board. The 5V jumper might play a part as well. I`ve still to get any firm conclusions, but this is playing a part in something else i`m working on, and i`m fairly sure this is the cause of whats up with your board.

If you`re looking for a new board...what do you need it to be able to do?

I see you have a mach2 are you sure you dont have condensation ???

normally, if it's not condensation (which does dry out after 1.5 days in an airing cupboard) it's a BIOS corruption.

Animal here on EPUK can reflash your BIOS chip for you for a small fee

Hi,

Its not the BIOS or Consendation, if you look at DFI street forums you will see endless requests regarding this 4 Led bug.

People on stock cooling, water cooling, Phase cooling. Different CPUs, mem sticks, GPUs. They have tried totally rebuilds, swapping components, bios flashes - and nothing works.

The 5v is an idea, but with so many different PSUs used getting this fault am not sure.

Thats why I have given up trying to solve it, it just seems a small percentage of the SLI-DR boards have this glitch and thats that.

I have the exact same problem on my expert board, it only happened after i took out my 3700+ to replace it with my x2. I noticed definate signs of condensation mopped it up thought it was dry and fitted my new proc. All i am getting in it now are the 4 red led's. Placed Mobo in airing cupboard hopefully that will fix it

Make sure you leave the socket open - the lever facing upwards as that the place of salvation for all things watery.

Worked for me on 3 different occasions in the board I am using now (all rushed jobs and not sealed correctly).
