mother board

Hello to all

im new and would like some advice on what mother board i should get concerning a tri sli gtx 680 set up.
at the moment im leaning towards 2 the g1 sniper 5 and the asus z87 ws, on amazon right now the sniper 5 is going for £189.01

New, there was one for around £161 i missed out on because i took to long deciding.

The gigabyte is more aimed at gaming really.

yes i do mate

there is one thing though i would like to mention about 1 of the the gpu's is it has a certain fault where the boost clock does not go past the the base clock 1072mhz and its supposed to be 1137 mhz as its a gigabyte oc windforce x3 card.
have you ever seen this problem before.

also it will not oc even if i tried just to a little.

Boost will only kick in below a thermal threshold, which i think is 80 degrees for most cards, but you could be just unlucky with the silicon lottery and have a card that just wont oc.

Best way to find out would be to run it solo and see what it is capable of.

i did that already many times and the performance was really low comparable to a reference gtx 680 and even lower in many bench marks, it just wont go above 1072 and this is me monitoring it during bench marks and trying to oc it with no changes in the numbers.

its supposed to standardly go to 1137mhz with out any tweaks

i have tried looking for a solution for this really annoying problem for quite a while now and have not seen any one who knows what the problem is or if any one has had the same problem.
this has truly bafflled me.
