Hey guys!

I'm having this very annoying beeping going on ever since I put the fx8120 in my pc. The weird thing is, there is no speaker connected :S

My pc works great, clocks great, but the noise makes me go mad.

Sofar I've tried:

Putting my head in my case to find the source of the noice. No find

Check bios for possible temperature warning. All disabled, cpu runs at 25°...

See if anything hits any fans and try to re-create sound bij making cables hit fans. No succes there eighter.

Check if gamecube doesn't hit anything or make short. No succes

Specs:

Gigabyte 990FX-A UD5

FX8120

8gb G.Skill 1600 ram

Gigabyte GTX 460 OC2

500W OCZ ModXtreme

120gb mushkin callisto

1.5tb wd hdd

Please help me out here folks, it drives me nuts..

It's a very high but not very loud sound. I don't think its the psu since my previous cpu was 140 watt and bd is 125. haven't oc'd it yet and it even makes noice on idle. Maybe it is a capacitor. How do I check for that ?

guess ill be putting my head in again then.. got i hate that noise

Edit: Can't find the source using my ears.. I've also tried putting the gpu in another slot. still beeps when idle.

Now to check if it's the psu, I have prime and kombuster running (cpu and gpu max oc). Guess what? perfectly silent. SO to check if it was heat, I turned all my fans of (except gpu). Still no beep. So now I'm doing other things like posting this while it's maxing out on all stability tests.

I've also smelled all capacitors, none smelled burned or anything..

Edit2: Turned test off, beeping again

I'll put the gpu back in original slot, and re-check (50th time) all my wiring..

EDIT3: Even after booting without the hdd and then without the ssd. after re-checking every single cable, checking usb ports, pci(-e) slots and repositioning ram, it's still beeping along, and I have no idea what it is...

I only have 1 gpu, so I can't see if that's the problem here...

Ok, I founbd out what was causing the beeping.

Prepare for mindfuck:

Opening Google chrome...

Thats really odd

Try: Uninstal sound drivers and reinstall them. Do you have a soundsystem plugged in the headphone or on the I/O shield?

Nope, doesn't help. nothing connected here.

It has to be gpu or mb capacitor, now I just need to figure out which one it is using only 1 gpu...

Im thinking about coile whine from the psu. Do you have a spare psu or someone who can lend you a psu for testing? I would start with that if i were you.
