Monitor waking issues

Hey guys,

So I've encountered some strange issues that I haven't experienced before and is so far to my knowledge not known to be resolved.

My ASUS Swift doesn't power up when my PC has gone to sleep mode, if I left it for a while and then power it back up. Pressing the power button off and on, doesn't do anything. It doesn't turn on unless I disconnect the power plug from the wall and then plug it back in. Then it wakes up.

And now I ordered an Dell S2716G monitor, and I just installed it last night, and whenever it goes black (sleeping I assume), it doesn't go up again. Despite my PC being still on and not gone to sleep.

Before I just moved my mouse and it would wake up. I am honestly really clueless why this is happening and how to presumebly fix it?.

Is there like a setting which I have forgot/not looked into that enables this or what?...

Edit: Just noticed that when powering off the Dell and powering it on again, it wakes up and a message "G-Sync module got connected". Can it be that my DisplayPort cable is going?...

Thanks,
Chrazey

Common fault with all Swift.

The battery supply no longer holds the voltage right. I made a post about this already. I had 100% identical issue that you have. When my vendor replaced the power pack the fault was gone. Dont worry, its not your monitor, its your power supply.

symptoms
monitor randomly starting up from standby with RoG logo splash screen showing
not powering on unless you reconnect power from the socket (to get the jolt)

Just take your swift back or if they will be willing to accept just the power pack, tell them it needs replacing. Ask them for the same power pack that powers the ASUS laptops, since its identical and you will be fine. Seems the laptop power supply packs dont go faulty like the ROG swift monitor ones do.

/problem solved.

Ohh well that was rather simple... Thanks alot for this. Maybe a dumb one as well, should I contact ASUS directly or the retailer? Since I assume they won't help since it's been almost a year since I got it?.

Due to if directly ASUS, I must say that it was a real confuse when trying to find a way of contacting them lol. Didn't even find which seemed correctly?:huh:

Also, is it the same issue with my new Dell monitor too? Despite not having a power supply, just a simple power cord, much like an PSU cable to the wall?.

I can't answer your problem with the Dell, but I know with 100% certainty that your Swift problem is the power pack. A few other users on this forum had same problem.

If you got it from Komplett (assuming Swedish or Norwegian) contact them and they will fix it all for you. I would always start with contacting the re/e-tailer.
