Hey peeps I may be able to get a new monitor shortly since my Asus is broken
Im tying to decide between an Acer Predator X34P 34" Ultrawide QHD G-SYNC Curved 100Hz 4MS IPS LED Gaming Monitor or Acer Predator XB321HK 32" 4K G-SYNC 4MS IPS LED Gaming Monitor.
I wont ever buy Asus again so don't recommend them but if you have any other suggestions I'll take a look.
I'm considering the 4K for movies as I don't know how good an UHD stream or ultraviolet download would look and play on the 1440p ultrawide.
I game with a 1080 seahawk so 1440p would probably be the best for it as that's what I originally had. So love to hear your thoughts
Cheers :)

Yes I was leaning towards the 34 p and I haven't played anything for months either due to warranty e with motherboards I have to be the unluckiest guy on the planet thats 2 board from different manu's that have been faulty from the factory but at least MSI are sorting theirs which is more than i can say about my Asus that i had

If it helps at all I got the X34P today and it's a fantastic monitor, Well worth it.

For that kind of money, ditch the gaming brands and try one of these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LC...21567511&sr=8-5&keywords=Samsung+qled+monitor

I've seen the 27inch first hand and there's no other word for it than frankly, stunning. Never seen colours like it. 144hz, HDR, it's just lush.

ya now im liking these iv had my eye out for a while now for a new 32'' 4k monitor, but i want it wall mounted and not to fussed if its curved or not.
when coughing up over a grand for a gaming brands and then hearing they got problems and the % of the problems is way to high for something monitors

You think that looks nice wait till you see OLED in person. I've seen them both side by side and OLED is even better.. which is amazing considering QLED is also chuffing awesome

I had the 32" version of the monitor you linked, Overall for a 1440P 144Hz panel it was good but the HDR part of it was crap, Only 8 zones and the highest brightness was well below HDR10 spec.

From what I saw on Linus the other day there is no such thing as proper HDR on any monitor yet. None of them. Some of them claim to be, then do about 1/3 of the spec HDR states.

Do not buy a monitor for HDR. You simply won't get it.

Only 1 to my knowledge, Asus Pro Art, 1000 nits brightness and 384 zones but it costs £2000.

I just see it as another "must have" (rolls his eyes) thing on a monitor. AKA - crap.

I mean yeah, having a monitor or TV that bright is nice when you are sat 20 ft away, but what use is it when you practically have your bloody nose pushed to it?

I've seen a proper HDR TV, I could see the difference but not sure it's something I would actually go for, Didn't really do anything for me.

It's uber brightness lol. I mean yeah it's a bit more in depth than that but put simply it's just the ability to be super bright without losing colour accuracy. Which as I said, is good for a TV especially if you are watching in the dark (because who wants to see grey washed out rubbish?) but I just fail to see any significance *at all* when it comes to gaming.

But, as much as it saddens me, monitors have become Epeen items and people will pay for useless tech. It's been proven many times over. OCUK is the worst. They have a million page* thread where people basically buy every new monitor that comes out. There's like these guys who serial buy monitors, then send them back when they notice a tiny bit of BLB. Some dude went through like 7. I bet they hated him :D

*probably highly exaggerated, but you get my point.

As bad as me and my ROG Swift epidemic ^_^ albeit mine was because I was getting replacement monitors that would flicker like a strobe light, 1 was covered in actual dirt, 1 had a smell emanating from it akin to the bog of eternal stench etc etc... BLB though I could't give 2 hoots about.

HDR is worth it. Problem is nothing on the market (including TVs for the most part) have proper HDR support. In addition to little content having HDR support really just means it's going to take a while. I'd personally wait a few years. And by that time we will have more content and better products with HDR support

Thanks for all the input peeps, I think I'm still leaning to the 34p at this stage, and as to the Sammy I can't get it here in Aus yet

There’s also the Acer Predator Z35P and the Dell Alienware AW3418DW, which I absolutely loved. Best monitor I’ve tried and the best looking as well. Had to return it due to the DisplayPort was defective unfortunately. But the first chance I’ll get, I’ll buy it :)

Dell honestly makes the best monitors (and laptops too imo)
