hi,

ive just fitted a smart xx lt opx mod chip...added a 250gb hard drive evo-x dash xbmc+xbmp loads of other stuff...

my question is..... ive read on the net that a few people have upgraded the cpu on there xbox's but no one seems to have a guide does ne1 know how to do it? ive also read that when upgrading the cpu u need a switch to control the cpu speed as some games conflict...ive all ready upgraded the memory from 64mb to 128mb...the performance increase is amazing but i want more...........

Post up some pix man... I always wanted to mod my Xbox when I had it but never had the chance, hell never even took off the cover.

I'd like to see what it all looks like on the inside, and fitting a new cpu on the board would be fucking badass!

Just checked out the FriendTech modded boxes with the 1.4ghz procs and 128mb ram upgrades in em, those are pretty sick... I like the media center one, that's almost better than buying a media center pc because its like less than 1/2 the price AND you get to play Xbox games, w00t.

They come with an Intel Celeron 733MHz :bornleet:

yes and no, they do have a CPu based on the CPU core of a P3 and the same cache as a celeron(P3) BUt they have the data path of a P3 to that cache (celerons usually have half data bandwith to such cache) so its a Superceleron or a Shi*P3

The Xbox CPu is soldered onboard and so upgrading is very dangerous ; related link >>>

If I had am Xbox I would :)

Hmmm....was thinking of buying an Xbox to do this a while ago when I saw it but then In realised my skillz weren't that good, so maybe I won't bother. Be fast tho, wouldn't it? :D
