Mobo Upgrade Long Time Away..

I have a XFX 680i LT motherboard and I was just wondering ive been doing alot of planning and shall I upgrade to the EVGA 750i FTW motherboard at christmas yep alot of long planning, or is they any point in upgrading..

If you're motherboard you have at the moment works fine, then I'd say don't upgrade just yet. Besides, after christmas, everything will be on sale

If it's just the motherboard you want to upgrade you're not going to see much of a boost. You'd have to throw in more upgrades to really notice it.

Having said that the EVGA 750i is a solid great value for money board...

I was thinking of getting 2gb more of reapers and then watercool and overclock the cpu till its limits and memory and maybe another gfx card

You're not going to get blown away with a performance increase just so you know.

If you really want to upgrade, I'd look at getting an E8400 and as you said an extra 2GB of memory. Personally I'd hold on to the motherboard for another while. Also depending on the resolution you game at a graphics card upgrade might not be worth it either...

It's up to you really...
