Hi,

The mobo that I plan to get:

EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI DDR3 ATX Intel Motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813188025

says that its memory standard is DDR3 1333, 1800(OC), 2000(OC). The memory that I was planning on getting is:

CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820145200

Since this memory is rated at 1600, does that mean it wouldn't work for this mobo? I just figured the memory could be overclocked to work or something. Is this the case? Does anyone know if I will run into weird issues when I put the two of these together? Will this work 'out of the box' or will I need to mess with it by ocing before it will work properly? I'd really appreciate any advice on this. Thanks:-)

Yes, that should work since the motherboard supports speeds faster than it, although as with most ram you will need to enter default timings and volts in the bios first.

Thanks for the info
