Mobile Phone / PDA hybrid with Wi-Fi?

Is there such a thing? I'd quite like a phone/pda combo that I can still surf the net over wifi with...

the mda compact series seems pretty popular. I had one of the old ones, but got annoyed because it was hard to text whilst walking.

Think the O2 XDAs are being discontinued, can`t remember where I heard that.

Just got a O2 Graphite, nice smartphone. hehe and I just sorted the wifi out ;)

I was also looking at the W950i. Looks a bit bulky and no Wi-Fi, but has 4gb memory onboard, touchscreen and a decent mp3 player.

I'm looking at the O² XDA's or possibly a Blackbery, if they do touchscreen?? I dunno why I just want touchscreen :p

What are Treo's like?

Those new Blackberry pearl's (i think) look awesome. I was thinking about getting one on o2 until I think i read that they work over GPRS on the o2 network and you need to sign up for one of their overly expensive data tariffs.

Gah no wiFi?

Why can't someone do a phone with:

WiFi

GPRS if needed

Touchscreen

Decent web browser access

Decent OS (Windows Mobile, Linux mobile or OSX)

Decent memory capacity

Fast

Fairly small

Decent MP3 playback

Works as a phone as well

It surely cannot be THAT hard?

The Nokia N95 looks the closest thing at the moment to me tbh. Its farkin expensive tho. Even on a £35pm tariff the handset is about £150 :/

Windows mobile 6 is apparently on the horizon, the current smartphones are all on 5 I believes.

O2 were giving away all kinds of sat-nav stuff free with the XDAs about a month ago, I nearly got one. Can`t remember what it was, but there was something about it that swayed me away.

Prehaps coz the Graphite was freeeeeee ;)

hehe if u really want an XDA tho, just hunt down it`s real name - HTC something, u can buy them out of contract with varying features `n stuff.

Watch out for some of the Blackberry's. Afaik, some of the models don't have bluetooth if it's a tool that you use.

The List (:D):

  • Qtek 9600 (HTC TyTN/i-mate JASJAM) - which I think is the best
  • Qtek 9000 (i-mate JASJAR)
  • O2 XDA Stealth
  • Nokia 95
  • Nokia 93i
