MMO ONLY GAMING BUILD

What is it with people and as soon as somebody disagrees wit htheir opinion, you are branded a troll?

It's because when there's a opinion out there that opposes one's initial opinion then they take it personally and feel like they need to defend their position even if it's detrimental and in no way beneficial for anyone. It's human nature.

For the OP:

MMO games are designed so that there's a wider range of people that can play it. In other words, low end systems can also run them and lowering the requirements of the game. I can tell you from playing Diablo 3 beta that it is in no way intensive for a system even with max settings. I played World of Warcraft on a laptop with med to high settings(2.4ghz core2duo with ati 4500/5100) just fine. Maybe not at 60 fps, but over 30ish fps and keep in mind it was a laptop. So if I were to run it on my current system, then it will eat WoW up alive(I just checked the requirements for lotro and swtor and I'm going to go ahead and group that up with WoW). Now, the 2100 > g620(my processor) so any cpu intensive settings will be taken care of with that. The exception will be the upcoming MMOs like Guild Wars 2 or Tera. I've heard they are cpu intensive games, but you've said that you are okay with med to high settings and I believe that the 2100 will be sufficient.

From what I understand the gtx 470 is pretty much comparable to the 560 ti in terms of power but it's better. You can most likely get away with a 550 ti at med to high settings, but I'd still recommend 560ti as you will have no problem with anything graphical at max setting. I'm still not sure though because it's debatable, but to be safe I'd go with the 560ti. However, if you had to pick between the 550 ti or 6850, then I would go for the 6850.

You can have as many opinions you want, but as soon as you dont read everything a person says and quote him on it, you gonna upset people. I even asked you to read it again, but still no bells ringing. This isnt the first time you act in a very childish and provoking manner, so im not gonna waste any more time on you. Welcome to my ignore list....

Please keep it civil guys its not the place to have a trolling sesion

As for the PC mate personally if its just mmo games that are going to be played then i would suggest either a 2500 or a 2500k purely so that if you do want to expand for newer games either of them chips will be able to cope and will allow pretty good performance for doing normal tasks aswell

As for graphics i have a seperate rig for playing my mmo games purely down to having different mice and keyboard and having it all set up differently, in that rig i personally only have a 6870 and i can max pretty much all mmo games at the moment, SWTOR is literally new out just before xmas and i have all of the settings maxed on that with steady 60fps

If you were to go down the line of getting a 560 go for the 448 version it gives you that little extra grunt for games if they need

good luck with the build mate

You are the one acting childish... Not everybody needs a 2500k, and in this case clearly this guy's GF does not need a 2500k.

Some people... /sigh

I think what everyone is getting at is that he could go out and buy a processor that may be able to do what they want however in 6 months when they release a patch may also cripple it, getting something thats more than adiquet may seen a tad overkill however it will last them it will also allow them to upgrade other parts of the pc such as graphics in the future when games become more demanding.

But why even bother with the H61 mobo then?

Because he already has the board. we are just suggesting things that may allow him to upgrade in the future without having to go out and get all new kit, if its just for playing games then the 2500k is fine its fast allows for other parts to be upgraded later on and will eat any game out there.

That is true, but in this situation it's not exactly ideal. From what I understand, this is going to be a plug, play, leave alone kind of thing(although correct me if I'm wrong). This assumption isn't ludicrous given the parameters. So when you have 2 solutions that essentially do the same thing(solve the problem), but one is cheaper. The choice is obviously the cheaper one. That would be the most cost efficient choice.

wow ..oki I went with a I5 2500 and Because I was downgrading my own system I took out 1 of my own 6850s and threw it in her machine, build every thing up found out the mother board was faulty so getting it replaced with a gigabyte model with usb 3.

Will post up pics soon just waiting on the motherboard
