To all forum members a BIG Thank you for all your kind words that you have sent,it means alot to us all. Will try my best to let you all know how it goes.

Joe has had his operation yesterday. Took 3 hrs to do and now he is in the HDU. He has to stay in bed now as he has 3 drips into him. Still poorly cos of the drugs he is having for pain. Docs hope for all to leave next Monday if all goes well. All Joe wants is ice-cream at the mo. I will be staying with him tonigt so wife can have a good sleep. Catch all later.

At least the operation went fine, that's a positive. Good he is still got an appetite, I lose mine after banging my toe :(. Hope all goes well once again from here on.

Hope everything turns out ok. My jack was in a hip plaster for 10 months after being born with a dislocated hip. best wishes to you and the family.

Sounds like excellent progress Msm2. Joe's been through quite a lot, but he's been super brave! :)

Wishing him a speedy recovery again. I'm sure for his bravery he'll be rewarded with a lot of ice cream. :D

just read posts and as all the others have said im sorry to hear this and wish your son a speedy recovery good to hear he wants ice cream proper brave lad get well soon.

Wishing your family and especially your son all the best and hope the recovery goes well. Medical evidence suggests that ice cream speeds recovery

Update.. We are all home now. Joe is doing great,up and about but slowly. Still eating tho not much at the mo. Hospital staff have been very surprized how fast he has recovered from the surgery and the drugs he is on. Now he is just on Calpol at this time which makes him sleepy, which is a good thing for him. In about 6 weeks he will need to go back in to hospital for another MRI scan, which he is looking forward too. Off school now for about four weeks, but he can go in the mornings for a few hours if he wishes too.

That's really good to hear. Hope the recovery continues to go well. I think it can take a bit to get full appetite back especially if he's feeling sleepy due to the drugs. At least its only calpol which doesn't have any nasties associated with it.

You never know, he might be begging to go back to school (lol). I hope his recovery continues to be swift and th

at the MRI in a few weeks is equally smooth. Keep us posted.

Glad everyone's home safe and doing well! Having breakfast for dinner usually brightens my kids day when not feeling well.:)
