Midnight Smurf: Watercooled Edition

I totally agree with you James, the SLI block does clash a little. But when the blue coolant runs through it, I think it just looks so nice that I couldn't cover it up. Just wish EK didn't put circles on everything now...

Papasmurf, where have you got that fan thing from ? I can see the point that in my update on my build whit a new case :)

Yiir, just that :D - But do not know if they will send it to Denmark :D

nuttin to ask Frozen if they ship to Denmark. i use them (excessivley) and
quite a stand-up bunch. they and PerformancePC are quite accessible.

PaPa, you might do to the SLI block like the other pieces and vinyl it with reveals
to show out the coolant pathes. or someone had done a guide on circle sanding
to a smooth (and polished) look. the frosted is fine..

Just finished up some temperature testing, overall I'm pleased with the results! After running Prime95 Blend and Unigine at the same time for just over an hour I got a CPU max temp of 75C and GPU max temps of 50C. This is with Bitfenix Spectre Pros pulling on the 280 rad and the 200 rad at 7V. My CPU temps are unchanged from when I had a CPU only loop, but of course my GPU temps are down about 30C. Definitely a great improvement, and I'm happy with it!

Looks good. In my humble opinion, given a choice between leaving the EK or doing carbon, I think leaving it alone is better. Be interesting if they offered them in colors or paint one with a clear candy color. Maybe the latter would screw it up or it would look like crap, just thinking outside the box. :)

tbh it looks really nice to me, i do actually like the blue smurf coolant and seeing the pic of it running through the gpu block was awesome sauce :D

I love this build, I actually registered because of it. Did the old primochill tubing look cloudy on the outside? or was it just at the connecting joints and such.

I've been wating this log for a while, and let me say a couple things. One, do NOT carbon fibre the SLI fitting. I think it looks amazing with the coolant. Second thing is, I love how you took your air cooling rig, and made do with what you have when you went to WC. You didn't get a new case or anything, and I really do respect how that worked out for you. Another thing is, I really do like the SSD fibered up. I might just get a Vertex 4 just for that, even though I was previously set on a Corsair Neutron drive, but that looks SICK!Also, maybe you should fibre up part of the GPU waterblocks that you see on the side, so it's black. I personally dont like seeing the clear part on its side, and you don't neccessarily have to carbon it all together, just part of it, but i suppose it'd look cleaner if it was all fiber. I don't know.

Thank you for the kind words guys! In regard to your question polarbearday, the tubing had some severe buildup in the places where the water flowed, but not in the places the connected to the fittings. See here:
