Yeah me too. U put stuff in, press some buttons and a few moments later u have hot stuff.

Thats about as interested as I am.

Now, all the things I'm after are on this model:

Panasonic NN-A754SB

A few hours from ordering this. The biggest thing is I seen it for £199, then a few places @ £179 and Amazon have it for £159....

Does the job, seems a bargain - pfft ?!?!

We've got a model one or two up from that and they've got a few common problems, like the turntable jamming and the plastic around the door hinges cracking :(

I went to get a microwave oven from there once, I complained that the model we were looking at looked like something fisher price would sell... :D I don't think the sales rep was too pleased, but I bet he wanted to laugh

The one we did get in the end does have one button that confuses me, a button with "Potato" on it...

Old Sharp my mom had a number of years ago did things like that. Think it was the way she cleaned it. Sort of under the impression that if anything plastic inside a microwave is left wet or damp from something like cleaning, it gets baked.

Microwaves are odd things, the model up from this has an auto-clean thing and a pan-browning thing ?!?! Sounds funky.

Matters how much they get used too. Pfft how do u decide which one to get outside of what it looks like (and the basic features u want, power, settings etc)

EDIT: Just found the next model up for £179

I'd get the cheapest one tbh. I looked up one in Tesco last year and it's still going fine.

Off topic...

A few years ago, I took the Magnetron out of 2 microwaves in the intention of creating a Microwave gun.

However since a step up transformer is driving it (For me it's 230V AC stepped up) I abandoned the project. :(
