Micron has announced their new 3D NAND Technology, which promises a massive leap in both capacity and power consumption. The First SSDs using this technology will ship in June.

Good job to Micron and Intel. Both those companies have some serious R&D pockets and it shows now with them beating the Nand king itself Samsung. Speed is meaningless since Sata is already capped out. Wonder if they plan on 2TB drives!

Price will be key but it sounds as if it will all be at a premium?

A small premium is justifiable on p/GB for larger drives, look forward to the new parts.
