Right I have a older set of DDR3 dominator plats they are 2x 8gb 1866Mhz I'm looking at getting another matching pair however, there are different versions now I have 3.24 and most of the newer ones are 4.XX and even with matching CAS timing etc... I'm worried about compatibility.

Will they run smoothly? or would I have to try and get 4 matching ram sticks?

Thanks guys

I think you would be fine with the newer version of the same kit. Really depends on how well priced the 1866 kits are now, as most people like to go faster now.

They will work fine, just manually set them up in the BIOS if youre worried.

If you do get quicker ram its not overclocking, its just setting them up.
