What would be good ram for 2011?

Did some checking arround and 1600/1866 is best for me.

I just want to know what brand to with and/or if XMP 1.3 matters at all?

I will have the GA-X78-UD7 (black and orange) and the 3930k if it matters at all.

Thanks

Ok so no answer for a couple days.

To re-ask: Does Intel XMP 1.3 matter for socket 2011 or can i use non XMP 1.3 ram in my motherboard?

if no one answers for a few days it means either we dont know and no searches have returned answers its not that we are ignoring the question. check it out the thread has 83+ views. I have tried searching and came up blank.

I doubt it matters in terms of whether you "need" it, you will not be affected by not having it anyway.

XMP as far as I know is just automatic OC profiles for tighter timings, but if you are manually overclocking then not having them isn't going to matter. So my answer would be no it does not matter, but I could be wrong.

Googling and finding out what XMP 1.3 is and what it is used for should then tell you whether you need it or not though.

I just read Tom's review about the Mushkin ram and I am very impressed. But I do not know what focus with the x79 platform: frequency or timing?

i would try and get the mixture of both on the x79 platform which the mushkin ram provides, i would at least aim for 2000mhz at cl9 but this is just me
