Memory for Haswell.

In a couple of weeks i will be upgrading to Haswell, but i have a difficult time picking the right Memory. The main issue is that one person says get 2133 MHz, the other says DON'T get 1.65 volt!, another says get 2 sticks as it doesn't stress the Memory Controller.

So i'm all lost by now really.

The main thing that's important for me is that it the Memory Height isn't gonna be a problem. I havn't yet figured out my CPU Cooler and Motherboard. It's 100% sure both will be Noctua and Gigabyte. The Motherboard most likely will be the Gigabyte Z87 X OC depending on the price.

I did a lot of searching myself and it seems to be that for Gaming the MHz doesn't really matter too much. But i could be completely wrong.

The Kit it found was the following:

If you think i should get something completely different let me know.

It was the same story for Ivybridge, but people ran 1.65v RAM and didn't have any problems, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If you can afford it, I'd be getting 2133mhz, but until Haswell is actually released, we can't really comment to say definitely 1 way or the other...

I think it's a bit early to be coming up with definite part lists when things haven't been released yet.

With the D14, you shouldn't really have any issues with memory height though, so don't worry about that.

Just wait for the reviews to come out. If its anything like SB/IB then 1600mhz should be fine. If the faster speeds are only a few quid more then grab those, just don't pay silly prices. As for voltage I would try and stick to 1.5v. I would still wait for the reviews first to see if memory makes a difference before buying it though :)

Ye i guess it's best to wait for some reviews. Tho, i really like that Crucial Kit.

But let's not rush things ^^

About the D-14, i'm kinda hoping Noctua will release a new version of it. I believe they showed it at Computex at some point. I just want to use their new Fans with better Noise reduction. I had my eyes on the new NH-U14S and go Push Pull with it.

But will see, Haswell is like a month away.

Do you mean this one:

That was announced a couple of years ago, but I think as the D14 is still the best cooler around, they've not exactly needed to rush the launch.

Set up the fans on the D14 at 5v, and it's completely silent anyway.

If you're spending above £40ish on a cooler, atm, the D14 is the only one I'd buy.

Figured it out already ^^ 2400 MHz.

I sorted my new parts already, they should arrive somewhere this week.

i7 4770K
Gigabyte Z87X-OC
Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400 MHz 2x4GB
Noctua NH-U14S + Extra Fan for Push/Pull

I was surprised by the motherboards price, only 200 Euros.
