Meet YouTube Red, the subscription YouTube experience

:OFF TOPIC:
I'm sorry but wow "A waste of Your time having to watch an ad for 10 seconds" wow you know you can just mute the ad and un mute once the video starts.

It may not seem much at all but I can assure you, for me personally it is extremely annoying being forced to watch some dumb ad before every single video you'd like to watch. As I said before, if they'd be not so aggressive it'd be totally fine by me

I'm not trying to tell you not to do it but as i said in my last post if you use Chrome you will not have a choice in the long run Google is going to put into Chrome where is disables any type of AdBlock, That's the problem they are going to be aggressive about it, Google is not going to give us a choice in the matter soon enough.

It may not be right but they are a company and that is how Google makes some of it's money.

just shy of 10 dollars a months is a little high, considering at the moment anyway netflix has licences to pay etc for broadcasting films and things. Which is what that cost does not seem to bad.

If it was say $35 a year with maybe $7 a month with a weekly cost for those who might be going on holiday or something. Then this would be viable.

Sometimes the ads work out I know this is a big annoyance even for my self, especially when I was watching a series of something or a longer video, but on the other side I discovered Lindsey Stirling this way and a few other artists and even a company I needed for a project.

But also having to have a video as an advert i can skip for 15-55 minutes of ad free video is great I don't have to put up with a noisy pop up.

If it was cheaper I'd pay as right now i would not be looking at $120 a year for no ads thats a rip off bad enough with a Tv License

I allready block all of there stupid adds (50+ adds just on the home page lol)

Nope not buying redtube/bs tube or whaterver thay whant to call it i'd rather buy a netflix's subscription

Have to say, I will not be paying for this either. Neither will I be forced into watching ads before videos if it comes to that. I would rather not watch content on YouTube, the same reason as I don't watch TV or listen to the radio.

I don't have time in my life to watch content I don't want to watch when there are viable ways to get around it.

Having said that I hope this and other projects are a success. I hope that revenue does increase sufficiently so that I can continue to watch without paying or seeing ads lol.

How can youtube or any such model exist without advertisements or subscriptions? Should people pay to upload content? People pay to watch? Or take a few secconds to watch an advertisers video who is paying for the whole thing?

Do you have OC3D on an adblocker too then?

I don't, as these ads are not agressive and are topic related. If you don't want to pay attention to them then you don't have to.

Youtube playing forced ads before a video will even load, that's another story. I'd much rather have it the way it was a while ago with the little banner on the bottom you could just click away.

Yup lol! Not denying it!

I don't mind banner ads at all though as long as they aren't distracting, I even use them if the product is relevant. Those ones that flash bright colours when you are trying to read or watch something are really annoying and only succeed in making me NOT want to buy anything from them.

I respect that a company has to make money to provide a service but if you ruin the experience for a user they will look elsewhere so at least in my case they need to be careful.

Since Youtube is forcing its creators into Red, then yes, people do pay to upload content. It currently does exist without "paid" subscriptions and some folks with adblock.

Please do not post multiple times in a row

Forever and always, babe

I was fairly late to install an adblocker, and the only reason I did so was because those expandable banner ads with un-mutable sound was becoming a thing on normal websites. Youtube adding ad breaks in videos was a contributing factor in tipping me over the edge as well.

OC3D has been on my whitelist pretty much from the start, though :D
