In january of next year Im gonna build me a nice new gaming machine, my first build ever. Its a brave move considering so little expertise I have, but Im determined, so dont try and stop me.

Obviously the place to start is with a motherboard. As a beginner should I stick to something basic or jump in with a £150+ tweakers paradise? Can a guy like me easily set up a board like that. How hard is it to get your head 'round it all.

Could I buy a fancy board, build a pc, then learn to tweak it as I go, or would not noing certain things from the off result in disaster.

what sort of boards should someone like me be looking to use for a Quad core rig, considering?

If you spend 150+ on a high end asus board you will probably be loster than lost can be ....you heard me

A mid / high Abit board will be far friendlier to a newer clocker - The IP35 Pro is a firm favourite of a lot of people. I cant comment on other manufacturers really but our review section would be a cood place to start :)

Yeah any Asus above £150 will get you lost, same for Gigabyte but if you stick with the non-overclockers boards you should be fine.
