Maximus Formula CPU INIT?

As above chaps, i can not get this board to boot and the LCD poster is stating the above. The board boots for like a few seconds all fans come on aswell as the mobo green, yellow and red LED's along with the card. The card works flawlessly in the Gigabyte board i have here and i'm just lost with what to do now. I have looked around and there are so many suggestions i'm lost with what to do.

Can anybody shed some light on this issue.

I have come across loads of posts stating it could be a memory issue and needing some lower spec ram to boot but don't want to pay out for something else if it doesn't work. I'm gonna put an ad up for some cheapy 512mb DDR2 or something but not sure this will help?

There are a few things to try:

1). Reset the CMOS and try again, keep trying a few times

2). If that fails, take out the battery, disconnect the power and leave it a few hours or better overnight

3). Try booting without any RAM in, if it gets beyond CPU init and fails at DETDRAM it may be memory related

4). Try reseating the processor, make sure no pins are squashed, that the heatsink is on properly

5). Check the board for shorts, if possible take it out of the case and put it on a cardboard box

6). Try booting with just one stick of ram, a processor, no GPU, nothing else

See the Clear CMOS button on the backplate? Press it once... you might have accidentally pressed it, so it won't post when it is pushed in. Hopefully its the same problem I had. I have sadly also had a CPU INIT which was a dead motherboard, so fingers crossed it isn't dead
