Maths Teacher

I have been sitting here with my hand up waiting for him to help me out with my coursework.. and guess what he does?

"Oh, I think Sammy had his hand up first" and he walks away.

How am I ment to do my bloody coursework if he keeps walking off when I need him to help?

I am behind as it is.. Arrrh!

He made me laugh, cos he said "Well you should be further than this, Nic. We have had 5 lessons on this."

I said in my head "Well if you came over to me 5 lessons ago I would have done more."

I just didn't understand what he was on about when he explained on the board.

I am much better when 1 to 1 so I can ask my questions.

I never did like maths teachers, there is always something massively wrong with them.

Not unlike art teachers, but i expect them to be crazy.

edit - just realised i'm now off to a stats lecture, where the guy brings up his failing marriage and hair loss instead of teaching - as i said, they are all crazy.

Unfortunately tho, cos I bust into the highest %, the next year I didn`t have her any more.

LoL my physics teacher is terrible. I've had to teach myself the entire curriculum. Basically she sits in the corner and tells us to read the textbook. She explains that "I'm learning the material just like you guys" It makes me so angry. She brings in student teachers to teach the different units because she doesn't know what she's doing.

Right now my student teacher is hot so I can see where you're coming from Rast lol

I'd be happy to give you a hand with your coursework Toxcity. What are you doing atm differential calculus? Algebra and Geometry? Analysis and Statisics? Quadratics? I don't know the UK curriculum for yr 12/college/whatever but the maths is all the same.

Know the feeling Tox. My math teacher was 'modern', in other words you asked a question and he asked you what you thought, told you to work it out yourself and left you high and dry. All I wanted was a simple answer to an intelligent question to get the grip of things and move on. The number of good passes was low that year, and he definately held me back from taking 'S' level math (as it was known then), really would have helped later on with Uni physics and coding. Anyway, after years of coding, math could always be better, but the logic, rational thinking and 'research it for yourself' has been strong enough. But hell, bloody math teachers and 'modern' methods, which so often equate to 'don't teach' and have an easier time.
