Actually it eats ALUM. I have used it before and it works well but is a REAL PAIN to use (very messy)

ah that's the stuff

Someone posted on XS saying it even fused the copper onto the IHS on a intel chip lol :(

There were a few pics showing it had eaten a little into copper and the copper had tiny fragments embedded into it, even after lapping it. Nasty stuff.

That and the fact it's illegal in the EU as it has a syringe with an actual needle

all I know is when I used it it ended up on my desk, in my hair on my clothes. Pretty much everywhere, lol

It is very thin and looks like mercury.

well ill try the stock heatsink first with some as5 and hopefully itll be within reasonable temps (57 degrees is toooo hot!) its a thermaltake tsunami case and there seems to be adequate airflow. my reckoning is the thermal paste as it didnt seem to effective when i had to take the heatsink off and it put it on the new mobo (specialtech sent wrong one :noobsign:) - possibly that was the problem? having to reseat it?

Wait a second... are you saying you put it on, took it off, and then put on again without adding more TIM?!?!?!?!?:eek::eek::eek: If so, that is most DEFINITELY the problem

yes wc, i didnt know this dried the paste stuff up blah blah coz im a n00b. As soon as my arcticlean comes ill clean it off and apply some as5 asap.

then cotton buds etc as mentioned earlier :P
