This may have already been suggestion, so forgive me if it has
But...
perhaps a marketplace for users to buy/sell/trade/give away even computer hardware+software
if you like
similar sites have a marketplace yet they are US based meaning that it really doesn't even out the costs
reasons why i suggest this is:
1. More safe/trustworthy then say ebay and gumtree etc. This is because it is hard to have open, easy and knowledgeable conversation over computer parts as its hard to contact and also you have to trust the seller whether its functional, and their ability to list correctly and provide trouble shooting or functional equipment is far less then the tech heads on here
2.Many people, such as me have very little cash and i dont want the latest greatest tech as my wallet cant stretch, and second hand is even better, i believe there is a great demand for it
3. Simple way of making extra money. The rate of which some people upgrade and hoard on here means there must be people with literally hundreds of parts they are willing to sell, to make back a little extra money to fund other purchases
A couple of rules that may be outlined
1. Buyers and sellers assume all responsibility, oc3d should not accept responsibility for any transaction, it merely provides the ability for people to list classifieds
2. There should be no selling of things that are not computer hardware or software to avoid cluttering of the threads
3. must provide a full description, e.g. funcitonal, not functional, partially functional and pictures.
Perhaps quite a lengthy suggestion, with a view guide points, but then again it is a really slow monday at work and im sick to death of researching blooming pensions. Let me know if its already been tried, or slammed
