Anyone brought anything from them before? I went in there yesterday on the way home from Reading just to look around and they had the Corsair M65 mouse for around £45. That's nearly £9 cheaper than what I paid from Scan.

They had some Corsair SP120 fans for about £20 for a pair. Just not sure if I should try using them or stick with Scan.

They are generally leagues behind current tech when it comes to PC components.
For the most part I find them to be overpriced but sometimes they do sell items slightly cheaper than other stores. If I need something right away I may use it as a last resort.

I'm not sure what the returns are like etc, if that's what you want to know. I do think that someone on here works for them though so maybe they could add to this.

I sometimes pop in when I'm near one to pick up a couple of cables, but like SPS said, you can't really rely on them for new stuff.

They're usually notoriously overpriced, and outdated, but I went in our local one the other day and they have had a bit of a revamp, loads of new stuff. Full range of Logitech and Corsair branded keyboards and mice. Much better than usual, I noticed the SP120's etc as well but didn't see prices. Leads me to think they're trying to sort out the being outdated side of things.

They're usually quite a friendly bunch as they have to deal with a lot of the old-school nerds I find, so are usually quite patient.

No harm in trying them out ? :)

They're easily better than Pc world. They also do have some quite nice deals online from time to time too. They also know quite a bit compared to Pc world as well. One of their salespersons last time I went there were advising someone agianst going for the Cougar 1000wPSUs they were selling and instead to go for the cx600m (that they were also selling). The cx600m was cheaper as well. It might be my local one thats an exception for all I know but still, not too bad.

Still only really a last resort imo.

Nah their staff know more than pcworld combined, they're actual techies not just employed bin men in my experience.

I might give them a try in the future if I am impatient and need something there and then. I did notice they have loads of cables and fans. And do loads of various toolkits if I ever need them.

There is one down the road from me which is smaller than the Reading one but only had the Corsair PSU. Can't remember what model but the largest one was 650W.

They are selling Raspberry Pi there too. I might look into that.

They do the cx750m now I believe. Looking online they have some really odd pricing.
For example, they have a 7770 for £169.99 but also another 7770 for £88.43

They also seem to be the place if you need reference AMD cards.

There useful if you quickly need a extension or adapter like others have said, as for components I have always found them expensive.

There is a store near to me and they still sell stuff like socket 775 mobos, pentium CPUs, DDR2 Ram and old GPUs like 4850 and 4870s.
As a retailer they are established and well known, if they have good things going cheap then grab if you can, as far as warranty and getting stuff replaced they are as good as anywhere else.

I only use the one in Hereford when I need something asap. Finally got my main pc in my room now and the Ethernet cable wasn't long enough that I had run from downstairs so I popped into maplins and got a 5 port gigabit switch for 30 quid. Had a good look round there and their pricing was more reasonable than I expected. They had a few corsair cases in there as well as a few power supplies that didn't look like they would blow if you looked at them funny.

I usually go pop into my local one if I need any cables, they're usually great for that sort of thing... will say though, last time I was in there (only 3 weeks ago), they had only AM2+ and the old 775 intel boards in their PC section... why anyone would put those old board behind locked glass I have no idea xD

I've used them here in Ireland a few times, for things like Case Fans, Thermal Paste, 2.5' to 3.5' converter etc.

The CPU cooler I have on my old Phenom II X4 955 was also bought there.

I should probably add I bought a Zalman Z11+ from there for use in a friends build. It was actually the same price as Amazon.
