Mandible's Rig.

I might flip the rear fan, but i would lose the exhaust effect, i reckon the net temperature would actually rise

yer :)

The best thing would be to turn the cpu cooler around so you still have the exhaust.

As it is atm, you have the rear fan, cpu cooler & PSU all fighting for air.

As for the fan against perspex, of course it shifts air! its impossible that it wouldn't. It hits air molecules and whacks them forwards. All that doesn't happen is the pulling in of air from the other side.

I'd be interested to see how long the bearings on that fan last & also how much vibration that fan is adding to the perspex panel as it is working harder than it should to try to move any air.

If you're happy with it, then fair enough.

Only just noticed that fan. I thought there were 2 air holes.

I wuddnt think that fan will do anything....

But if ur that peristant that it does some good for ur system try it out.

check ur temps

remove the fan

check ur temps after i while.

I cant imagen there to be any difference.

Gratz on your 1st build mate, looks good. Eq has raised a good point and the best solution would be to turn the cooler around, however I can see your point of view - it seems a lot of hassle seeming as it works fine.

Leave it a while, but if your bored at some point it would be worth trying turning the cooler around and test temps again. At this point it would be worth trying to hide some of the cables - looks tidier and better airflow! :D

Is the PC loud btw?

Loud? HELL YES! But it's a good loud. And the odd thing is, not to mention that the freezer pros manual told me to make it face backward, it wont fit the other way! The AMD retention module stops it. Which is kinda... gay.

As for vibration, near none actually. I guess all that happens is it creats a vacuum behind the fan which fills up from the front, lessening the flow, but it is still apparent. You can see that dust has been pulled into it. Cables look worse than they are btw. All the molexes are outta the way, and the cpu power cable. It's mostly just sata and temp sensor cables, which are a bugger to get to stay down.

Hey, fair enough you might like it, and its your pc, BUT, from experience, fans dying, things breaking, surely you would rather spend some time, get it 100% perfect and running efficiently in a tried and tested method??

But hey, dont bother me if something break, not my machine. :p

as for the cooler just put the fan the correct side of the heatsink - so the fan is blowing through the heatsink towards the exhaust if it wont allow u to turn the fan round :)

A vacuum behind the fans?? I give them a few months til they start smoking or just die ;) lol

You could always turn the back fan around to blowing in-line with the CPU cooler and make the other side fan exhaust.

That should work...
