Here it is folks, had it going a while now, but didnt get round to making a thread :o shocking as it is.

I have to thank you for all your help, i'm so happy i got this going!

Piccies:

Here's the PC under flash, so you can see the insides. The little feller hanging from a molex lead is my Cable-Management monkey. He keeps an eye on the mess of cables i stashed in my spare drive bays :D

A general pic of the PC, without flash, so you can see the glow, note the nice pattern on the wall made by fan grille, and the juryrigged extra casefan in the side window. Duct tape FTW! The desk buddy i will show you later.

A peek through the window.

And here it is, the inside of the beast. This really was a great case to work with.

Again, another juryrigged fan, which sucks cool air off the floor of the case, and blows it into the gfx card accelero cooler.

The front, with the door open, i stuck a promo sticker which came with the black edition cpu on the large drive bay covers, it's a scorpion, and put all the rest of my decent case stickers on the floppy drive cover.

The oh-so-cool kama meter, which i only really use to monitor temperatures, as the fans i have cant be controlled by it.

2 pics of the cases temp readout, the first was way overexposed, but i thought it looked pretty cool so i stuck it in.

There it is, the whole desktop, in all its glory, and you get a little peek at my borderland jungle through the window, too :D

Finally, my desk buddy, Beer o' Clock, a pressie from my sister in japan. It is without a doubt, super epic.

ARGH! the bloody OC3D uploader keeps making my pictures huge!

The PC is oced to 3.2ghz, which was EASY with the black edition, and is running great! Thanks for all your help people!

Cable Management anyone???:D

I like the NZXT lexa case for its looks but its mainly plastic...what drew you to buying it??? and for the price of it you could have done so much better imho

looks ok, the cables look a bit messy tho :)

What CPU cooler etc do you have? (is it the freezer64 pro in your profile?) looks like there's a tower style cpu cooler with a fan facing the back of the case next to another fan attached to the case (working with/against one-another). Also is that fan on the side (the top one) just against the perspex window  (ie - no hole in side for airflow?)

Looks like there's lots of air movement around the core components, but are the fans providing flow or working against eachother? :p

just to say about the pics...UPLOAD THEM USING OC3D's upload panel. easier to use and direct link to forum pages....:worship:

Yeah, i know the cables are a tangle, but i like to show them because of the lovely blueness. It gets much worse in the drive bays :D

As for the fans, they do the job, the temps are down low, and yes, one has no airflow. It just keeps things moving.

I'm not trying to be funny or anything, just trying to help out, so please don't take this as a personal attack.

Looking at the fans in this image, they are pulling against eachother (the one on the back is pointing outwards looking at the blades).

Look at the diagram of a freezer pro:

airflow_freezer7pro.gif

Also I wouldn't ever put a fan against perspex (without a hole) as it isn't moving any air as there's nothing to move.

Both of these instances will probably hinder the performance of the cooling and also probably shorten the fan's lifespan.

also...im going to go on about the fans again, or the cable management. BUT!!!...

1. those extra fans youve put in there. take them out. they aint going to do any good, prob cause more troubles than its worth.

2, your cpu cooler needs to be turned around, seriously. youll get better results and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!

thirdly, cable management allows for better airflow around the case. We all know this from experience so i think its only right to pass on the knowledge.

Id listen to what people are saying. buy some cable ties and throw out those fans, (or send them to me XD) turn the fan round. It will look 10x neater, show off your components but most of all, give you a much better, smoother more reliable machine. :D

Dude

Take the fan out as its against perspex...no airflow what so ever - ur going to kill the fan plus dump more heat in from an overheating motor.

Move as many cables out of the way as possible as - they look messy + hinder airflow

Surely the monkey isnt a good idea? It falls..takes out a cable, get lodged somewhere idk

Plus werent u scared of static - i wudnt put anything non intended for pcs in my case :p

Gets the cpu fan the right way round!! :D

wot are ur temps like? have u mounted the cpu right? :)

you got it up and running at least :)

ha ha ha ha ha. all everyone has done is criticise this, including myself, fair enough you built it and got it working. Not just do some fine tweaking and your all sorted.

Get it done, i wanna see the finished result. Im rather a fan of NZXT cases. :p

omg theres two fans! lol

yeh fans kinda have to suck air through them to blow them the other side :)

lose the monkey - you know it makes sense :)

If you have a dremel, you could always make some slits for the top fan. Then you would have the effect, but it would be useful.

Although, as far as i can tell it would be another fan on the cpu. Not sure whether it would help or hinder.

Other than the points already made, its looking swish.

Can't wait to see it cleaned up :p

urrrmm.... yeah... i see the argument about the cpu fan now, brooksie didn't explain it to me brilliantly

but honestly.... getting it all open again.... and the problem is, if i reverse the rear fan, the only exhaust is the top of the case. As for the fan against perspex, of course it shifts air! its impossible that it wouldn't. It hits air molecules and whacks them forwards. All that doesn't happen is the pulling in of air from the other side. It certainly has a powerful push that you can feel with your hand anyway. And i like the light more than anything.

Other points of note, there's already a tophole, thanks for suggestion though, and i'm afraid that while i can see it could do with some tweaking... i can't really be arsed to be frank. It works fine, and runs cool, and it looks cool too. I'm happy with it as it is. I might flip the rear fan, but i would lose the exhaust effect, i reckon the net temperature would actually rise, even if the cpu got a bit cooler. I'll try it, but that's about it. Thanks for all your help people, i know i couldn't have succeded otherwise. :D
