Making / buying a window for my case?

Hey guys, I've got a Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced White and I want a side panel window for it.

As far as I can tell, Coolermaster only make a black windowed side panel for the case, so:

• Is it possible to source a window for my case in white?
  

• If not, can I have a black windowed side panel repainted white? How hard is this?
  

• And if all else fails, how hard is it to make your own side panel window? I'm fairly DIY competent but have no idea what the cutting/painting process would be like...

i dont think coolermaster make a white window panel.

painting it will be a bitch because the paint probably wont match.

you could probably cut your own panel with a dremel or a jigsaw but you might need some u channel and you can stick it on with some double sided tape scotch 4010 is supposedly the best

Hello, I have a Cooler Master Stacker 832 which I stripped and had powder coated white and a Zalman Reserator 1 plus, I wanted to replace the Mesh wide panels with perspex because of the amount of dust I had getting in and I preferred the look.

It isn't that difficult to cut depending on the perspex, I sourced 2 sheets (clear and black) from Ebay for cheap about 50X50cm 3 - 2mm thick for about £5 and it wasn't bad, I used some old band saw cutting thingy-ma-bob with a tiny and thin but fast moving blade I found at the back of the shed (any big blades I can imagine would split it), I got a couple chips along a corner (because the corner had to be rounded, not right angle) but I would have to study the panel that was cut to point them out to people. As long as your careful, It can be fairly easy to work with. I'm going to have a go at cutting the black sheet today. Be very careful when drilling the screw holes (if you decide to fit the panel with them).

I would say it depends if you think you have the tools laying around for the job and the time then you should go for making your own, you can get have whatever colour window you want without painting.

give them a little while they may make one for it. Seeing as its a new case on the market. Took them a while to release others as well. But nothing beats the joy and excitement of doing it yourself

I can tell you from experience that paint-matching a black windowed panel is a complete pain in the arse!

Tried several different rattle cans (Plasti-kote white, Halfords Ford Diamond White, Plasti-kote appliance white, possibly one more) and they all come up yellow in comparison. Going to sand it right back down and try grey primer underneath instead of white, as soon as the weather improves, and see if that makes any difference.

I hope they do release a white one now they've got the black/white case out. Apparently there were some about when the white one first appeared, but never seen one for sale.
