making boot drive from cd to USB ?

i have a driver cd that i want to copy to usb stick and use that instead what do i need to do this ?

I know it's not just a case of drag the files from cd to USB

A driver CD? You'll want to download them from the net to get the latest versions mate.

I have done that mate, The asus site just has a ver basic Driver all its done is make windows 8 recognise the U7 as a sound device.

The disc has all the Asus programs o for volume and effects as well as the Dobly V4 software and PCEE stuff i need to get full use out of it

I'm fairly sure you can download those programs off the net as well. Shouldn't need a CD or USB.

Don't look for the drivers on the site. Look for your motherboard model and check out the 'download' tab. Pretty sure all the drivers should be listed there?

It the xonar U7, the cd wont auto run and when i get it to run the program hangs,it looks as if its tying to boot the 32 program from the disc.

when i try and install Dolby v4 from the disc it says i need PCEE installed and i cant find it on the disc

If you can't find the drivers online for some reason, try following one of these sets of instructions and make the bootable USB drive from the disc. The first is probably the most relevant
