major ripoff by sony(gran turismo)

wow i can see that venture taking off.. think of all the poor kids who's parents buy the console and game for them and then find out they actually have to buy something before they can actually play the game. Sony really are going to burn in a special kind of hell, their recent performance is astonishingly bad!

(batteries, ps3 and now this!)

being an absolute Sony fan I'm now considering just gettin an Xbox 360 instead!!!!

I mean OK I'm a working adult so I could possibly afford the little extras for cars and tracks (if the game game free) but that is swaying me to tell Sony to go f**k themselves!!!!!

a fellow at another forum made a quick calculation that all cars and tracks would end up at roughly 600+$

ok the idea in itself isnt bad but with those prices it gets quite expensive in the long run and i wonder how many will buy mre than they can afford as it sounds cheaper than it is.

I think thats partly the idea, because the price seems so cheap, kids won't really have too much trouble wrangling the cash out of Mum or Dad, heck they may even say 'treat yourself to $5 worth' this is obviously the ploy behind the game to generate a whole heap of income.

Imagine all PS3 users ordering say 20 cars and 20 tracks, I sure wouldn't mind that kinda cash popping up in my bank account :D

I couldn't believe that when I was reading it!!! It's basically a scam in my eyes.I doubt the price of the items will go down in price over time like the games used to (platinum etc).

Turning my favourite racing game ever into a scam :beerchug: Makes it incredibly hard for me to stick up for Playstation when there's crap like this around every corner...

What happened to getting GT3 and still be sitting there in the afternoons still playing it.. I still haven't completed it to this very day.

My brothers done like 95% on GT4. Gotta get gold on all the liscenses now, which is nearly impossible!

Well pat your brother on the back..

Tell him good luck with the liscences.

I class this in a similar way to online MMORPGs that have you buy their game off-the-shelf b4 u can go online and try them.

U go online, use u`r "special key thingy", it turns out to be crapoz - tada u now have a meaningless box.

U can`t even take it to the likes of ElectronicsBoutique and trade it in coz - duh - the code`s been used. Apply for a new one - wtf!!22231222!!! they`ll charge u the same as a new game off the shelf !!

Took a few threads of rants on the codemaster`s forum to get them to submit to downloadable gaming, which is fair enough, but I think they still require u to purchase to download it - well u`r still in the freakin same boat, cept u don`t have a spare place-mat to stick u`r cup on coz u only downloaded it!!

Download - create account - free trial - then u pay.. simple. Used to be like that for most orpg, but no - now they want the extra buck buying a stoopid box.
