Major rant/good news

Nice car man!

What insurance company would you guys recommend for a 17yr old? (almost 18).

On about my 20th lesson now, going well. Find it really hard to judge the width of the car sometimes though. Dead scared of hitting anything next to it (parked cars etc). Been fine so far though.

I want to get in some private practice without paying 24-25 quid a hour for the AA ones, which frankly I don't think are that good anyway.

Looks like a solid buy mate. Good find. Should take this opportunity to drop a hayabusa engine in there or something :p

A guy in work just baught a mk2 mondeo 2.0 zetec for around the 1k mark, got it halfway home and the ceramic in the cat shattered somehow, blocking the exhaust. Backpressure has ruptured the gaskets on two of the headers, burst the cylinder head gasket, poped out all 4 rings, bent the valves and fused two sparkplugs into the cover. Plan now is to drop an M50b28 engine with 60k on it in which should be sick.

Technex. The cheapest companies ive seen (and that ive seen friends go with) have been (varies depending on car) Prudential, Tesco, Nationwide and the post office.

Heard alot about adrian flux. Mixed reviews, cheap but some people pay for it later.

Had fantastic service off them and so have a lot of my friends who have high performance/import cars.

what processor does it have? :D

idk, but judging by the sheer number of wires, its a big bugger :o

Thanks guys! Will check all them out.

I thought Direct line was the best too but they quoted 2600 pounds for the cheapest one they do... And this was with a car estimated at 150 quid even!

ring em up, they're usually nice and polite to ya, you should be able to shave a bit off that

but get an old banger for your first car, a bit like mine :P

tbh first car, young age its goin to hurt for insurance unless ur put down with parents as a named driver

i might be getting a 52 reg corsa 1.2 from work, a garage, (for about a grand ish)

fingers crossed its a beaut

i've been driving an 03 plate corsa as my ...well, not first car, its my grans car, i've just been named driver, and its a horrible thing to drive...its an auto so it drinks petrol, 35 quid a week, to do 120ish miles...

i cant say i'd recomend it for anything more than its driving position, which is great for me and my gran because we're both short, i'm 5'5 and my head neerly touches the ceeling which is great..

and working, i have taken plenty of pictures

i cancled my insurance at the 1560 price, and went with fully comp with direct line for 1292.55 instead of 1560 for 3'rd party
