Mach II ST Question

Hi, im new here and new to the phase change side of things.

Im looking at buying a Mach II ST and wonder what comes with the Mach II ST @ £370? Do I need to buy anything else for it, to get it up and runing?

Is the extra money worth going for the Mach II instead of the ST? Its around £110 extra!

Thanks

Hi there, and thanks for registering.

The Mach II ST comes complete with a cpu kit and warranty. You do not need anything else to run your computer at -35 degrees. The case you use needs some modification in order to work. ie, some cuts. But other than that its plain sailing.

The Mach II is a more aesthetically pleasing ST. You can get a display for it and control the fans etc. You have more scope with the Mach II, but the ST is a lot cheaper for similar overclocks.

hi mate and welcome :)

As phil has already mentioned the mach 2 looks a bit better than the ST due to the cool looking LCD from which you can see whats your mach 2 doing, under load in general terms its nice monitoring your rigs evap contact and load status etc...

The ST doesnt come with the USB and windows software so that you can adjust your fan speed etc.

Personally i had the Mach 2 and i always left the fans running @ normal speed which is the stock speed of the mach 2 fans.

Using turbo makes your unit noisy so it aint worth it IMO.In few words, wether you can control your fans or not is no problem and nothing important from my experience.

If you want the better looking mach 2 then go for it. The lcd looks cool and the software, usb interface will allow you to firmware update your unit etc...

i dont know if you can do so with the ST.

the ST though is a winner.Just install it and fire it up and enjoy your new clocks :D, and its v cheap as well...

Thanks,

Does the ST come with seal string?

Is the extra £100 worth spending on a Mach II to have the LCD?

The cpu socket kit comes with all the bits you need including a roll of seal string mate :)

Its £100 actually not only for the lcd, its the control circuit they are using in the unit as well as the USB and software in order to control your fans and update your units firmware.

I would say go for it if you got the extra money.

I love the looks of the blue LCD myself so i bough myself one when i still had my mach 2 to replace my green one...

If youre in a tight budget then you cant go wrong with the ST...remember...same cooling potential ;) (since running the mach 2 fans @ max speed wont give you any important perf increase...)

Yea, I get what you are saying.

I want the less noise as some times I will have it on over night and I sleep in the same room :)

The Mach II is a more pratical option then. Me thinks I will get a orange LCD, make it look a little different.

I would get the cheapest base unit you can get at first then add the Lian Li kit on after wards, etc etc.

Thanks for your help.

BTW, I would be buying the Mach II off here ;)

Nice one mate, you wont regret your decision to buy a Mach II I can promise you that, however you might struggle to get yourself an orange display new. You might want to consider a "bogey" green one that actually looks pretty sweet with silver, or black for that matter. Don't forget as an option too, with the Mach II in particular, you can get a lovely Lian-Li aluminium kit, and since the price has come down a bit recently it really does make all the difference.

Xcellent choise mate...

The blue lcd is the best i would say mate...

You can match its looks with CC and especially when having the lian li kit it will look even better...

Turning your fans in low noise will surprise you on how quiet the uni is...

i got 4 coolermaster blue led fans running @ a fan bus with the lowest voltage supplied and they are louder than my unit running @ even normal speeds...

Keep us updated with your unit and dont forget to post some pics when you get it ;)

Yup I plan to get a Lian Li PC65 with a Lian Li Kit for the prommy. Should look great.

My origianl decission was to get a U2 UFO case from mountainmods, very slick cases and use that with pelts on the cpu and gpu but ive changed my mind and go with the Mach II approach :)

Cant wait to get it up all up and runing. A fulltime student with a Mach II and A64 is going to be very slick

Thanks guys

Yup, i'l post some pics for sure.

So its best to keep the fans that are supplied with the prommy? Nice and quiet is the way I want it :)

Full time student here as well mate ;)...

Its nice isnt it?

People ask and look at your rig and cant understand nothing whatsoever :D...

Bennah, we want lots of pics mate, you'll be dealing direct with me when you get your kit so let me know exactly what you are after, and I'll get the cuts done etc, also, if you pay by bank transfer I am offering my customers rather tasty discounts :)

Well if you opt for the PC65, you will have to have it cut to fit the Mach II. If you look where the capillary tube goes - straight through the bottom of the case :) It's a little time consuming but it's a service I offer. Email me for further info and discounts ;)

Great, this is getting better and better :)

Im going to buy all my things from here for the Mach II: PC65 case, Lian Li Kit, LCD, extra string and other things if you decide to sell them.
