I have been having problems with getting my system to start.

When I plug in the Mach II GT, the fans start up , I get all the lights on and the system says "BootLoading - Waiting". The systems doesn't power up my system nor does hitting the power switch on the PC do anything.

Can someone help me please?

Usually an indicator to tell you that the firmware needs updating.

Here comes the tedious bit:

Disconnect the mach head and cpu kit - put the air cooler back on the CPU make sur ethat the molex and USB connecotr are both still on the system (the PC has to recognise that the mach is connected).

Okay now start up your PC (replace the yellow wire going from mach to motherbaord with the PC PWR switch off the case).

Once windows has loaded up you need to install the bootloader software, run it and re-install the firmware on the mach unit.

Once that is complete you can re0install teh mach unit properly and all should be well.

Gotcha - now how about if I have a second computer that is aircooled I can just use that one right? My problem is the bootload isn't seeing my Mach II.

Do I need to hookup just the USB or the power supply to the second system as well?

As long as you have power going to the mach and the molex and USB connected you can do it on that.

Now - the USB plug slide onto the USB header, but on the 4 pin row (there is a row of five pins and a row of four pins plus a blank) The black wire of my mach sits on the pin closest to the blank pin on the 4 pin row. Your PC should acknowledge that a device is now connected if you have done it right and you can load up the mach software (which includes software drivers) and bootloader to upload the firmware.

Mav - it worked! Thanks mate - the problem was user error. I had the USB plugged the wrong way. Now that the Mach II is flashed - it works fine! I have hooked back up to the main system.

Now another problem has just surfaced :( My system shuts down right before windows finishes loading. I opened up the BIOS and changed all my settings to default and still now dice.

Any suggestions?

Specs:

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe

AMD Athlon 64 4000+

WD 74G 10K RPM HD

600W CoolerMaster PS

The only change I made since my past boot was adding a USB PCI card.

Thanks for all you help Mav!
