A thread close to my heart. As a wannabe mac owner ive a few for you...
1. Are there any MCE based apps for viewing tv al la Media Centre Style
2. Can you send me one from Ausie land as they seem to be cheaper ther lol
3. With it being so easy to use, do you use a lot of tweaking and under the hood playnig like you can with xp
4. Sum up why to get a mac over a pc in your own words

Just out of interest, dont suppose anyone here is running WoW on a mac? Thats my only NEED for a mac laptop

I know two people who play it on an iMac (the older ones with huge CRT) and I got to try it out myself for a bit. It's been over a year now, but it ran fairly well. I think there was only a minimum of lag.

1) if i recall correctly i had a look arround a while ago and could not find any at all...things could have changed since then...

3)there is really not much you can do under the hood of the laptops (especially the macbook pro, since they are alreday running REALLY hot). however i have heard that alot of people are having a good time modding the mac pro (intel). although there is only a small list of video cards that are supported by OSX you can techincally run any of the standard video cards under XP (you will have to mod the drivers to work on the unique intel chipset). also they come standard with a 1000W PSU and 4 PCI-E slots. (although the only way you can use all 4 is with 4 7300GTs under OSX)
4) recently there has been a big change, and alot of the negative things that people had to say about macs are just not true anymore. for example price, the top of the line mac pro is actually cheaper than the equally specced dell (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060823/ap_on_hi_te/tech_test_mac_pro_3), plus you get the good design and good looks that come with a mac. plus you get the ability to run OSX AND XP. the people that say "there is no software for macs" are just plain wrong now since anything you can run on an X86 system you can run on the intel macs.

yep i have two 60s (nightelf hunter and undead priest) played the hunter to 60 on my 17" powerbook 1.33ghz...really playable right up untill the 40 man raids

Im sold... just need to get one of the buggers now. When I meant under the hood i meant like system tweaks and such that you can do with XP. I dont really do a lot of things like that but Id hate to be stuck with a "noob" environment that I couldnt play with if needed.
Also in the other mac thread, can someone post of isight capture. Wouldnt mind seeing how well that works.

Got any sample vid as well? Not really that important but I always likes to see what things like that can do.
