Low GPU usage during benchmarks

I get very low GPU usage in unigine heaven benchmark, even on the xtreme preset. I have also noticed stuttering in games. Why is this happening when both, CPU and GPU are not being maxed out. I tried overclocking my ram to 1600 9-9-9-26 to see if it helps, but it doesn't. What is the cause of this?

Stuttering in games is usually due to exceeding the memory usage on your card.
What games are you getting stuttering in?

Don't know why benchmarks wouldn't be maxing out your GPU though. Both Heaven and Valley should have your GPU on between 70%-100% load. Try 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme, that should put you on 100% load nearly all of the time.

in gta 4 i was getting about 800mb of vram usage, and my card has 1280mb. The game played at ~60 fps, but there was terrible stuttering that made it unplayable.
Still, there must be a limitation or a bottleneck somewhere.

My friends 7850 does the same thing in benchmarks. Have no idea why, but i haven't spent much time trying to figure it out. It works just fine in games tho. Just benchmarks. He uses a Sandy bridge i3 stock, and a gigabyte 7850 1GB.

Mine is Gigabyte GTX 570 Super overclocked. is the a link with the bios being a gigabyte one

GTA4 is very CPU intensive so it could be your CPU causing the stuttering by just not being good enough to run it smoothly.
You could try opening task manager while the game is running, find the GTA4.exe, right click on it and change the priority level from high to normal or low. That might help but it may also cause the game to crash.

To me it almost sounds like your apu's gpu is not entirely disabled.

Thats what i thouth when gta 4 saw 2GB OF VRAM instead of my cards 1.2gb.
i Get quite similar results with apu and gpu, but my gpu should be far better

That doesn't sound like proper GPU behaviour. A friend of mine has MSi GTX 570 and has no problems as far as I know.
By the way, do you mean that even if you're running the benchmark fullscreen on max settings, it won't stress your GPU or CPU to 100%?

even on extreme preset, sometimes i get like 80% usage

with extreme preset it is far less noticeable, but in some places where i get higher fps, the gpu usage still drops, which leads me to believe that something is bottlenecking my gpu.

I doubt it's a bottlneck issue, your CPU, RAM and GPU are all capable of holding their own and shouldn't be limiting one or the others performance. Plus Valley and Heaven are GPU benchmarks and don't tax the CPU as much.

Try 3Dmark and Furmark, see if they max out your GPU usage.

Have you tried Furmark and 3DMark yet?
I've suggested it to you three times now...

It would be helpful in ruling out whether the problem is solely with Unigine or not.

furmark uses 98% which is good. im currently installing 3dmark.

i wish i could affrord a quad core intel cpu right now

it is annoying because i want to bench my gpu at very high clocks and i want to get a good score, and right now, what ever is bottlenecking my gpu, makes my scores lower than stock

my: 977/2080
stock: 732/

If your GPU is being maxed out in Furmark and if it gets maxed out in 3DMark then your CPU isn't bottlenecking your GPU.
I doubt it would bottleneck your GPU anyway, if it did you would get the same situation in games. Also, if it was your CPU, your CPU would be at 100% and it would be your GPU that wouldn't be getting stressed. Seen as both your CPU and GPU aren't getting maxed then it's not your CPU limiting the GPU.

It could be driver related seen as the 570 is a pretty old card now. You could try some older drivers to see if that helps.

i was getting stuterring in gta 4 when both gpu and cpu were not being maxed out. this may be linked?

The stuttering is a common problem with GTAIV, loads of people had it.
Google "GTAIV stuttering" and there are pages and pages of people with the same prob.

If your GPU and CPU were maxed out though your CPU is definitely not bottlenecking your GPU, or you GPU wouldn't be at 100% :)

Im trying to install .net framework 3.5 on win 8.1 but the downloading process fails evry time. i had enough of win 8 im installing win 7.

regarding gta 4, it worked fine when i used core i5 760
