And in this cornor, weighing in at just under £200. A complete budget built!

Im doing this for a friends dad. Who just wants it too use basic office apps and some fancy pants music programs.

Specs:

AMD Speron 2800+ (754)

MSI K8M800

1GB (2x512) KVR

80GB Deskstar

Samsung Writemaster

Hiper 350w

I was supposed to have a major cheapo case with it but usless-ass ebuyer ran out, now i have to spend £10 in postage to get a £10 case...

A piccy:

Im shocked that i can get a whole system for so little!

VERY cheap that is mate. What video is it? Onboard?

Also if he's doing music stuff doncha think a good sound card is an idea?

Yeah on-board video to keep costs down. Same with the Soundcard really. I can add one for him at a later date if he wants it. I think hes got a few external ones lying around however.

Nice Sempy pwnage rig :) Don't forget to ship it out with F@H cranking for 43461 ;)

And if he's all about the music, then you need a good soundcard because I guarantee that the onboard audio chipset for that mobo is total garbage.

Just to think, the motherboard ram & cpu of my last build cost more than that on their own :( (was an athlon 3200+ NF7Sv2 and 1gb dual channel kit 3 years ago to be fair though)

Well the thing is all cased up now. Im installing windows now.

The PSU is making clicking noises. It sounds like teh fan is catching on somthing as it speeds up and slows down.

Dismantal or not to dismantal? (the psu, and the warenty sticker wont be broken if i open it up...)

if it wont be broken id dismantle, and maybe stick a different fan in aswell if you can, fans with cheap psu's tend to be terrible anyway
