Just wanted to double check. Everything is compatible, and this build will do just fine right?

That'll work! There are so many ways to build a nice cheap rig out there that it's hard to put your finger on a specific setup.

Nice Mike.

Why don't you take a glance at |3ourne's proccies in the for sale forum mate: well worth it mate :)

That 3200+ Venice would be an awesome buy...Here

Lol the processor is already better then the one I have now so I am already ashamed by her computer lol 3200+ venice would just add to it. Plus that 939 if I'm not mistaken. I'm glad you guys approve of the set up :) Whenever I actually order it I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

dump that board , get a chaintech VF-250 . Get a sempron instead and oc it to around 2000 mhz , ull be golden. Sempron 2800+ 64bit are quite cheap atm. Get some decent ram , ballistix PC4000 256 mb is for 26.99 on newegg i think , get two of those. For 49.99 u can easily get an ATI Radeon 9250 which will be better than that geforce 4000.

Get this case : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811124063

and spend the extra money that i told u here and there to get a better psu. U will end up having a buncha problems with the present psu.

Links to the parts :

Ram : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144305 ( save some money since u only have a single channel mobo , get single 512 mb module )

Proc : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104241

Case : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811124063

Mobo : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813152043&CMP=OTC-pr1c3watch&ATT=Motherboards ( its out of stock )

PSU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023

VGA card : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130207

I would personally get an NEC burner but thats my preference , Lite-On is an OEM manufacturer basically.

Meh, the PSU should do as Antec is the only stock PSU's I trust. It's not going to be any gaming all online and liek MS word i dont see a need for a better Video card.

the reason i pointed at a better vga card is becoz u were paying a lot more when for the same amount of money u could get a better card or get the similar card for less and save money.

Ummm , if ur comfortable with the stock psu then ok , but i would really recommend the TT psu , but its ur choice. Costwise , everything should be the same as before .

I dunno 256 Mb of ram not 512. A sempy with 128kb cache compared to a clawhammer with 512.

The graphics card will suit me anyway. As will the PSU, It is Antec and it's not like I Need dead stable voltages for this thing. I don't understand why I would go with that for the current one. Enlighten me?

i meant 1 512 mb module instead of 2x256. Sempron will run cooler and more efficient. 130nm process vs 90nm process.

As far as PSU goes , dead stable rails means a stable solid computer. A64s are really sensitive to voltage fluctuations , meaning a little drop in the 12v/3.3v rail and ur pc might suddenly become unstable. Do not fret the 128K L2 cache of the sempron , It has raw speed to make up for it. For eg. when comparing a Winnie and a sempron , both at 2.7 ghz , the sempron is about 1 sec slower in Super Pi 1M. Sempron is basically a disabled venice core.

In the end its ur decision. But for the money ur spending in ur first config , ur not making a completely good use of it. I am just trying to make u get the max out of ur money.
