Budget: $2-$3k, already have keyboard/mouse/monitor/speakers

Also, plan on re-using these parts:

PSU: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
Optical Drive: Don't have exact model: ASUS SATA DVD-R (I'm not too picky about optical drives though, might even ditch one all together)
GPU: EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P3-1469-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
HD: Don't have exact models: Samsung 2 TB 7200 RPM, got a Western Digital 320 GB 7200 RPM, and 1 TB and 320 GB old laptop hard drives that I will throw inside the case as well
SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Monitor: Samsung 226BW (will wait for >1080P resolution desktop displays)
Keyboard: Logitech G15 (eventually will go mechanical)
Mouse: Logitech G500 (getting due for an upgrade soon too)

Main uses of intended build: Gaming, music production, NVIDIA CUDA GPU programming (HAS to be NVIDIA), scientific computing, video processing, 3D modeling

Parts required:
I'm going for LGA 2011 so I can upgrade my CPU to Ivy Bridge-E next year.

Previous build information (list details of parts):
See Budget section. Other than that, there's an old Core 2 Duo E6600 chip, a useless Intel Bad Axe (1 not 2) motherboard, a Creative Audigy 2 sound card (shudders), and 4 GB of RAM.

Monitor resolution: Samsung 22" 226BW 1680x1050 -- eventually will upgrade this to a much bigger screen when consumer-level >1080P resolution desktop monitors become available.

Storage requirements: I am planning on re-using my existing storage (have around 5 TB).

Will you be overclocking: yes/no (delete as required) Yes, will push the CPU up to 4.5 GHz using air (as many people have already done this successfully).

Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers): USB 3.0, SLI, eSATA, 6 GB/s SATA (as many as possible), 8 memory slots preferred

Extra information about desired system:

I should preface this by saying I'm doing less gaming and more programming today than I was while I was in college so I'm planning on keeping my Geforce GTX 560 and waiting until the next generation of cards arrive from Nvidia (7-series?). I'm really in favor of having an LGA 2011 socket because the upcoming Ivy Bridge-E CPUs will support it (looking to upgrade to hex-core Ivy Bridge when it comes out). I'm pretty set on having a six-core CPU since I do scientific computing projects that are highly multi-threaded involving heavy-duty linear algebra and the like as a professional electrical and aerospace engineer.

The motherboard and RAM might be overkill (call me out if they are)!!!

The high-end sound card is definitely not overkill though since I am a headphone/music addict. The Cirrus Logic DAC on that sound card, along with an actual impedance-matched headphone amplifier, swappable opamp chip socket, and EMI shielding make it THAT much better for me than integrated or any brand-name shit from Creative.

PROBLEM: I can't seem to find the perfect case. The HAF X is pretty good -- everyone speaks highly of it -- except the front panel is made out of plastic and it is not so silent. I do like its large cooling fans though (> 200 mm). I'm really looking for a quiet aluminum full-tower case with USB 3.0 front panel. A built-in SSD mount would be nice as well. If you have any suggestions for something that would better fit these criteria, please let me know.

You might notice a missing optical drive, hard drive, and SSD. I already have these items from my old build, and so I am recycling them. I don't care for Bluray (shiver me timbers! ). I also have a 750W Corsair power supply (made by Seasonic) that I plan on using. Let me know if this is not adequate power for what I'm doing.

NOTE: I plan on OC'ing the CPU to 4.5 GHz on air cooling -- notice the Noctua fan. Is there a better air cooler out there? I don't plan on going to water.

I suggest a Fractal Design R4 and a H100 and for gpu you could go for an nvidia quadro 4000. They are amazing when it comes simulations :P
