Low 3dmark06 Scores

Right then first ill say hi...... HI.... :wavey::) i have just recently purchased a 9800gx2 and fitted it only to realise i needed new mobo with pci-e2 and ht3 for my phenom 9600. Having got these and put them in i proceeded to go through the 3dmark06 BM and other things to see what bonuses i had picked up by getting these new goodies. Needless to say im fairly dissapointed. i only picked up 9030 3dmarks. Im on vista 64bit ultimate latest nvidia drivers and mobo updates. Im new to the overclocking scene even though ive tried to keep up with the latest techs for many years and came across rivatuner and have been playing with that a bit to see if i get any difference, i use the link clocks and put the core up2 650 and got lower scores then put the core up2 700 and got 9151 3dmarks. i put it up again to 750 and ended up with lower scores again. i really thought id end up with getting at least 10 thousand with my new stuff considering i got 5000+ on my amd64dual 5600+ and GF7600. I really need help cause i think im doing something wrong, maybe mobo settings or something plus in 3dmark it says "linked gpu's = false" and that my card only has 512mb ram LMAO yeah right. Any help most appreciated..........:wavey:

Ouch, something is going on here, considering I get about 19000. :o

Ill have a look into it.

Have you got SLI enabled?

Yeah, that's pretty low scores...I get about 16000k with stock everything with my SLI'ed GF8800GTS-cards. What mobo and CPU are you running?

He is running on an Asus M3A.. seems to be able to run the card fine.

To enable SLI.

Go to the Nvidia control panel, change the view to advanced and then click "Set Multi-GPU configuration". Set it to "multi-GPU mode"

Considering a single 9800GX2 is basically a 8800GTX it should be getting higher than that even if it was running without SLI.

Mmmmm, all I can think of is something is bottlenecking the whole system? Grab GPU-Z and see what the PCI-E speed is.. hopefully 16x.

But if it was running likle 8x, you may get this problem.

i have just got gpu-z and it seems to be telling me everything is as it should be but maybe you can see something i dont know..... hopefully

Seems perfect.

This is confusing, something is bottlenecking the GPU.. the GPU is being starved of data.

What's your PSU? - scratch that.. yours is fine.

I would need someone elses opinion but I think either the CPU or the motherboard is choking the GPU?

it seems to do ok at 1024x768 which is poo cause im on a 20"but crysis only runs about 20-30 fps... im really confused when i run bench mark @ 1680x1050 it goes to about 10-12fps

thats not good, i get way more than that with settings on high too.

what happens when you run everything @ stock speeds?

cpu score seems to be very low. have you got TLB Erratum workaround enabled in your bios? even then, your actual graphics score still should be a lot higher anywho
