Looking to buy a GPU

I'm going to buy a GPU in a few days but I'm just struggling to find out which one is best for me. I've narrowed it down to ether 7870/660ti/7950. It takes about $40 to go up to the next GPU. I will have a i5-3570k in my PC. I don't exactly know how to overclock it and currently do not plan to watercool it. I have one 1920x1080 monitor and don't plan to get any more.

If its just for one 1080p monitor then i would reccomend the 7870 :) my 7870 hawk maxes bf3 at 70-80 fps with the aa on 2x. havent found a game i cant max yet.

Well a 7950 is the best of the lot. Get a revised version which has got the turbo boost or factory overclock and a third party party cooler. Both those points will be important for you.

7950>660ti>7870 is roughly accurate. All will be decent with your resolution.

With a highly overclocked i7 ivy, it gets to around 40 fps. Unless you overclocked the card by 50%, you are either playing a different game, or not maxed out.

I believe you should get as much GPU horsepower as you can afford. The 7950 is the fastest card out of that bunch so that would be my choice out of the bunch.

Or not Now I'm stuck between ether the MSI Power Edition 660ti or the Sapphire 7950 with Boost. They have a 5 dollar price difference. WHY CAN'T I DECIDE OTL.

i'd say stay on 7950, just something a lil less blue in the PCB. i think in another
thread, you've decided on the GD65 which is predominantly black w/blue accent.
id opt for the powercolor AX7950 3GBD5-2DHPP. more money, but better card,
same output ports and aesthetically matches the scheme a lot better.
the 7950 has double the memory band with (384-bit) and 3GB (not 2GB 660ti)
would have upgrade potential more so the 660ti.
rolling on the 660ti, the 3GB would be the same boat in monies.. $325+

just an observation..

The power color one is about $50 for then the sapphire one.
Its not the Over Clocked edition :\ that one is about $30 more.
Also I've began looking at the 7870. Lots of reviews saying ether go up to the 7950 or save money and get the 7870 and I've found the Sapphire OC 2gb edition for $195 saving me around $90.

everything on ultra with fxaa high and 2x msaa @ 1080p. overclocked to 1200mhz core and 1240mhz memory. before the 12.11 drivers it might have been about 40 but now its alot more. anandtech bench rates a stock 7870 at 60 fps with my settings.
