Looking for advice on a new build

First of all, hi everyone :)

My ancient laptop died the other day so I am going to build a desktop for myself instead.

The PC will be used mainly for video/photo editing, 3d rendering, coding and other stuff but I do also like to play games, so I'm looking to build a solid foundation first of all, then add dedicated graphics and extras a little later down the road.

I currently have the following parts chosen........

Where I am unsure is concerning ram and PSU.

I have initially chosen these......

Concerning the ram I'm a little confused as to whether I need to buy the faster MHz variety or if I can do just as well with slower sticks. The PSU, is the 650w enough to power, for example two 770's in SLI (if/when I go down that road )?

Another thing is, eventually I plan to overclock, but for the time being, am I OK running the stock cooler on the CPU?

Advice would be very much appreciated, ta :)

Nice choices on the case, MoBo and CPU :)

Few things below.

"
GeForce GTX 770 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
GeForce GTX 770 2-way SLI -
On your average system the cards require you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
GeForce GTX 770 3-way SLI -
On your average system the cards require you to have a 1000 Watt power supply unit as minimum." - Guru3d (LINK)

In the past I'd recommend 1600MHz ram for gaming, whether you get 8GB or 16GB that is up to you but 8GB will be sufficient (I have 16GB for the looks)
As for RAM speeds, I seen this about 30 minutes ago from Corsair about FPS in BF4, it makes me wonder if all future games will benefit from the speed, interesting to be honest so just take a quick look (LINK)

I wouldn't even run a stock Haswell chip with the stock cooler but that is me personally, just do not get tempted to overclock it with the stock cooler :p

Thanks for PSU advice, I will bump up to a 750w for future proofing.

I intend to get a good cooler asap, after next months paycheck hopefully, but 700 is all I can really stretch to right now (and that is really gonna break me for a month lol) and I am trying to get as good a set of base components as I possibly can within that budget. I am hoping that Intel supply a cooling solution that is fit for the purpose in the mean time :p

What software do you use? It may prefer lower timings on the ram or higher bandwidth and make a pretty big deal on rendering and such.

Also on the software side.. if it uses OpenCL then AMD is the only way to go. IN OpenCL test a 6970 will make a Titan look like old. Source
