Looking for a microATX case

Hi all,

I'm building a new system and I decide to go microAtx because the system will be on the living room.

I've been looking at the Air 240 and the 350D. The air 240 is quite appealing but in a way I don't like the fact that you can't put some fans on the bottom.
The 350D for me is more due to the cable management.

Any other good options out there now?

This is the system I will be building:

MSI Z97M Gaming
i7 4790K
MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5
Corsair RM Series RM 750
Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 8GB
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
Samsung 256GB SSD 850 PRO

I have recently completed a build (check out my Project Up build log). I had considered the same cases (350D and Air 240) along with the Parvum S2.0. I ended up choosing something totally different....

I wanted to build into a cube type case if possible and I wanted the option of an optical drive + a number of HDDs + SSDs.

One crucial factor that made me move away from the Air 240 was its ability to house a GFX card with a non-reference cooler fitted. If you look at the review of the Air 240 here on OC3D you'll see that the case can only take cards with coolers as tall as the PCI bracket. I wanted to fit something with a beefier cooler and as I mention above, I wanted something that could handle good amounts of storage.

The 350D was eventually rejected because I thought the tower would look a little out of place up on my desk (just my view) and the PSU is also on show.

I ended up going with a Fractal Design Node 804.... AWESOME CASE.

Pretty understated with fabulous storage capacity. Great cooling potential (air and water) slot loading optical drive bay etc. The amount of case you get for £75 is hugely impressive.

My build is a red/black themed one, so I removed the white/black fans and also replaced the PCI blanking plates with black ones out of an old case.

Hope this helps! :)

You also have the Fractal Design Arc Mini R2, which I've personally recently purchased and I personally love the look of it, with the slighty smoked window etc.

@Mullet - Could you check out my other thread regarding this case, would be appreciated!

Thank you for your input Mullet and Chrazey.

I opted to go for the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv after i saw it =)

No problem at all! That's what these forums are all about! :)

Ohh yeah, haha! Totally forgot about that one lol! :p ... Nice choice though dude, hope it suits your needs! :)

Looked at that Phanteks case myself too.

Great looking case. Make sure you post pics of your build up for us all to drool over!

:)

If you do not plan to get a 2nd graphic card, FT03 is very good looking in a living room environment, and intake fans are at bottom and lower half of the case.

Mullet I will post some pics of the build as soons as its finish. Still have to look for a good heatsink that fits the case and order some bits so it be ready, fans and sleeved cables. Although the cables are gonna take longer sense I want them black and red.

Great stuff mate. Looking forward to seeing the build. Why not get yourself a AIO CPU cooler? Would look nice through that window. Oh, and on the red and black colourscheme.... love it!
